Unforgivable; the psychological effects must have been extensive as the authorities ignored “The Family” for over 15 years. Adopting quite a large number of children should have raised the alarm but it seems the authorities must have been delighted by being relieved of the responsibilities of taking care of those children. Surprised that the kids were not compensated by the state for its failure to act to protect them.
