Hello friends, it's mister Jim and welcome

0:06

back to Kids Short Stories. Did you know

0:09

that we have a ton of activities that we make just

0:11

for you. Head on over to Heymisterjim

0:13

dot com and look for activities for

0:15

kids for all kinds of great

0:18

fun stuff for you to do after you listen to

0:20

our podcast called Kids Animal

0:22

Stories. Well, friends, today's

0:24

story comes to us from Hawking

0:27

and Oakley. They sent me an awesome idea

0:29

for a story and you can too. Well, are

0:31

you guys ready for today's story? Me

0:33

too, Let's go. It

0:42

was a beautiful day on the moon.

0:45

As Hawking in Oakley, we're

0:47

lounged outo

0:52

drinking some nice, delicious

0:55

lemonade. Wait a second,

0:57

they're on the Moon. You might

0:59

wonder how that's possible. Well,

1:02

these two are actually real

1:05

space rangers. They

1:07

spend most of their time up

1:09

in space guarding all

1:11

of the planets, from the farthest

1:14

farthest planet to the very

1:17

most closest to the Moon. Do

1:19

you know what planet is very very close to the

1:21

Moon? Yes, planet

1:24

Earth. That is actually where

1:26

Hawkin and Oakley are from a very long time

1:28

ago, before they moved to the Moon.

1:31

Hey, Oakley could you hand me some

1:34

of those snacks over there, said Hawkin.

1:37

Yep, here you go. Oakley

1:39

had reached down and leaned over to grab

1:42

a bag of their favorite snack, moon

1:44

popcorn. They had figured out

1:46

a wait, how to grow corn on the moon,

1:49

and this moon popcorn, which comes

1:52

you know, from corn, was absolutely

1:54

delicious. Have you ever tried

1:57

moon popcorn before? Oh,

2:00

we gotta get that recipe, or maybe

2:02

we just got a head to the moon. Hawkin,

2:05

it's been such a slow week.

2:08

There's been like no adventures for us. Do

2:10

you think this like space is just safe

2:13

now? Like they don't need us space ringers

2:15

anymore. Hawkins sat up from

2:17

his chair after shoving a whole handful

2:19

of moon popcorn in his mouth. He

2:22

chewed it up, swallowed, and said, there's

2:25

no way, Oakley. Space is full

2:27

of never ending adventures.

2:29

That's why we moved. Do you remember, yeah,

2:33

said Oakley. I it just feels

2:35

like it's been kind of a boring week. Oh

2:38

don't say that word, said Hackin.

2:41

Just wait, now that you said the B word,

2:43

something crazy is gonna happen. You

2:46

see. Over time, Hawkin and Oakley

2:48

had both learned to never complain

2:50

about it being boring, because

2:53

that's when the biggest problems seen to

2:55

pop up. And that's exactly what

2:58

is about to happen to them right now.

3:01

Me me me, me, me, me, me me me.

3:04

Hawking and Oakley looked at each other. They

3:06

couldn't believe it. It's the

3:08

alarm. Hurry. They ran

3:10

back to their base camp as soon as possible and

3:12

opened up the screen. Oh no, look

3:15

at that, Hawkin was pointed

3:17

to a giant rock like a

3:19

meteor, flying through

3:21

space, headed right towards a

3:24

faraway planet. They had never

3:26

heard of this planet before, Hawking, Look,

3:29

it's headed towards the French

3:31

Toast planet, Oakley

3:34

shouted, and couldn't believe it. Have

3:37

you ever heard of the French toast planet?

3:40

Yes, that's actually where all of

3:42

our French toast comes from. It's delivered

3:44

on a spaceship uh on

3:46

tuesdays, I think. But that planet

3:49

is where they make all the delicious

3:51

French toast that we eat for

3:53

breakfast. There's no way

3:55

that we can let that planet get destroyed by that

3:58

giant meteor asteroid rock, said

4:00

Hackin. It's our job as

4:03

rangers to save the

4:05

universe and the universe's supply

4:07

of French toast. Let's go. The

4:10

two of them jumped into their rocket

4:12

ship and blasted off.

4:14

They had to get to that planet as

4:16

fast as possible. But it's a good

4:18

thing they had supersonic hyperactive

4:21

hyperdrive speed. That is,

4:23

when their rocket ship would go super fast

4:25

and cruised through space and they

4:27

could get to another planet far away in

4:29

the blink of an eye.

4:31

Zoom.

4:36

They carefully landed down on the planet

4:38

and stepped out of the spaceship. They

4:40

had never been there before, and Oakley

4:43

was quick to take his helmet off because he knew

4:46

it would smell absolutely delicious.

4:49

Oh, it smells just like French

4:52

toast. As they looked around,

4:54

Hawkin and Oakley couldn't believe it. Everywhere

4:57

they looked was French toast.

4:59

The entire planet was

5:01

made of this delicious stuff, and there

5:03

were even syrup rivers

5:05

and maple syrup waterfalls,

5:08

and even maple

5:11

syrup swimming pools. How

5:13

in the world do they swim in those, asked

5:16

Hawkin. That would be like impossible,

5:19

they're so sticky. As they were walking

5:21

around, they were quickly greeted by one of the local

5:23

aliens on the planet. Hello,

5:26

space rangers, Thank

5:28

you for coming. We have a

5:30

serious problem on our hands. Come this way, come,

5:32

come, come, come, come, come, come, come, come come. Maybe

5:34

Hawkin and Oakley stayed close behind

5:37

this local French toast alien.

5:40

So what seems to be the problem. We know there's some

5:42

kind of huge asteroid rock thing coming

5:44

for the planet. Have you guys

5:46

been able to send up something to stop it

5:48

or redirect it? Asked Oakley.

5:51

No, we have not been able to do

5:53

anything to stop that giant rock

5:56

from crashing into our planet. All

5:58

we have is French toast in maple's

6:01

syrup. It doesn't seem to help anything.

6:04

Well, why don't you show us around and maybe

6:06

we can figure out a way to save the

6:08

planet, said Hawkin. Because

6:10

there's no way that anyone wants to live in a

6:12

universe without French toast, shouted

6:16

Oakley. The local French toast aliens

6:18

were quick to show Hawkin and Oakley all

6:20

around their planet.

6:21

You see their planet. It wasn't very big,

6:24

but it was very important with

6:26

all that delicious French toast

6:28

and maple syrup. I didn't know

6:31

that there was You know that stuff

6:33

has made on some planet far

6:35

away, But wow, am I grateful

6:37

for all those aliens that work super duper

6:40

hard. We got to make sure that we save

6:43

that planet. Am I right? Yes,

6:46

yes we do. And it

6:48

was at this moment that Hawkin

6:51

saw something that could maybe

6:53

just maybe save the whole

6:56

planet. Hey, what are these things

6:58

over here for?

6:59

They look like some pretty cool sprayers,

7:02

asked Hawkin. Well, those are

7:04

our pressure powered maples syrup

7:06

hose sprayers that load up our

7:08

ships when they need to be filled up

7:11

quickly with maple syrup before they're shipped

7:13

off to all their different locations.

7:15

How much pressure can you put in those things,

7:18

asked Oakley.

7:20

Well, they can be very pressurized.

7:22

We usually only use it at ten percent.

7:25

I've never seen it at full capacity

7:27

before, but I'm sure it would be pretty

7:29

impressive.

7:31

Hawkin and Oakley both looked at each other with

7:33

their hands on top of their heads, and they realized

7:35

that they were running out of time. They could see

7:37

that giant asteroid getting closer and

7:39

closer to this planet.

7:42

They needed to act fast. Oakley,

7:44

I'm gonna run over to the pressurizer and

7:47

engage it to one hundred percent pressure.

7:49

I need you to hold onto the hose and see

7:52

if we can launch that maple syrup at

7:54

the asteroid and hopefully

7:56

it will deflect it in time. Wow,

7:59

this actually work. Do you know

8:01

what pressure is? Well,

8:04

just imagine you're holding a

8:07

garden hose and you turn on the

8:09

water in the water starts to trickle out just

8:11

a little bit. The more you

8:13

turn the handle, the higher

8:16

the pressure is. That the water is now

8:18

starting to come out faster and

8:20

faster through that garden hose. Well,

8:22

you see, that's low pressure and high

8:25

pressure. The more water is shooting out of

8:27

the hose, that is higher

8:29

pressure. And so if he's gonna bring

8:32

their maple syrup hose

8:34

to full pressure, that means it's

8:36

gonna blast out maple syrup

8:38

at incredibly high speeds, hopefully

8:41

almost like a laser that

8:43

can push that asteroid out

8:45

of the way from this planet, saving

8:48

all of our French toast forever. Hawkn,

8:51

I have the hose in position. Engage

8:54

into full pressure, power,

8:57

shouted Oakley. Hawkin was standing

8:59

in front of a hoole bunch of switches. He

9:01

didn't know which switches to push, but

9:04

uh, I'm pretty sure he needs to push all

9:06

of them.

9:10

As each switch engaged, the pressure

9:12

increased from the hose that Oakley

9:14

was holding, and pretty soon it turned

9:17

into a maple syrup laser.

9:20

It was shooting out of there so fast. It was seriously

9:23

like a laser beam. Do

9:25

you think you would be strong enough to hold

9:27

onto a hose where there's a maple syrup

9:30

laser beam shooting out of it. I

9:32

don't know if I am, but somehow Oakley

9:35

is. As he held the hose up,

9:37

it shot out all that syrup towards the asteroid,

9:40

completely exploding

9:42

it. They've saved the French

9:45

toast.

9:45

Whoooo.

9:47

As they turned down the pressure

9:50

for that maple syrup laser, all

9:52

the aliens on the planet couldn't believe

9:55

it.

9:56

Oh in the world did you do that? That

9:58

is absolutely amazing and realized

10:00

that we had maple syrup laser

10:03

power here. Thank you so

10:05

much, hocking at Elkley.

10:07

And that is the day that Hawkin

10:10

and Oakley the Space Rangers

10:13

saved the universe's supply

10:16

of French toast and maple syrup.

10:18

Now I'm hungry and I think I'm

10:20

gonna go eat some delicious French toast.

10:23

The end. Great

10:32

job, you listened all the way to the end,

10:35

and you know what some of it is. It's time

10:37

for kid shout out.

10:40

I want to say hey to Natalie and Madelina

10:42

from California, Grant from San Diego,

10:45

Sonya from India, Miles

10:47

from Maine, Omer and John John

10:49

from Florida, then from Troy,

10:52

Michigan, Avia from indialaand and South

10:54

Carolina which that's Royal, Lev and

10:56

10:58

I'm so glad that you're all in the Kid Short

11:00

Stories family and on our spy team. We could

11:02

not stop talk Ter Stinky Breath and his crew

11:05

11:07

11:09

you on our next adventure. Bye,
