Join our conversation with #scientist Premila Samuel, PhD who is a postdoctoral researcher studying how hemoglobin is made and what can go wrong when it's made. #Hemoglobin transports the #oxygen we breathe from our lungs to the cells so that cells can use this oxygen to carry out functions essential to life. However, people can inherit diseases, errors in the genetic code, which can cause hemoglobin to misbehave (malfunction).

Because we are scientists and much more, I’d like to mention a Trigger Warning (TW) at minute 22.30 where we discuss our experience with the grief of losing a loved one.

When referring to my status in the USA (Pomarrosa’s), I should have said that I’m part of a minoritized group instead of saying I’m a minority.

Some day I’ll tackle my tendency to say “like”...
