It was lovely to get my daughter Laura on to my show.  She’s is a busy teacher in a Primary school and together we discussed how she deals with the pressures of her workload, and the stresses and strains of the first few years of her professional life.

Happily, I also heard how input from her management team, colleagues, and her own strategies has helped her to deal with the pressures of the “work-life balance” (most of the time). We also discuss how the rewards of teaching are now far greater than any of the down-sides.

I think there are lots of interesting things about good mental health in this show, whether you are a teacher or not. However
If you are affected by any of the issues in this show I recommend that you contact the Education Support Partnership.  They are the only UK charity providing mental health and wellbeing support to teachers and everyone working in education.

They have a free, confidential helpline staffed by BACP qualified counsellors and get help when you need it:
