Andor has arrived on Disney Plus. Here’s how you can watch the fourth episode of the first season online.
This Wednesday, the fourth episode of the newest Star Wars series on Disney Plus premiere. Andor, one of the many upcoming shows set in that galaxy so far, far away, made its debut on the streaming service last week.
Lucasfilm has been using the popularity of the streaming shows to unearth new stories in the Star Wars franchise, and it has done that by revisiting some of the most beloved chapters in the saga. That was most recently seen through Obi-Wan Kenobi, which brought back Ewan McGregor’s version of the beloved character for a new adventure.
Now, we see the story pivot back to the one told in standalone prequel film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The irony is that this series, Andor, is a prequel as well, taking place five years before the film.
Andor is a two-season miniseries designed to tell us the character’s backstory and set up Rogue One. Actor Diego Luna not only reprises his role as Cassian Andor in the show, he serves as executive producer. He’s joined in the cast by Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, and Fiona Shaw.
With its first three episodes premiering last week, sights are now set on episode 5. Here’s all you need to know about how to watch it.
How to watch Andor online
As Andor is a Disney Plus-exclusive series, the fourth episode – and the rest of the series, including the three-part premiere – can only be viewed on the paid subscription service itself (Disney Plus).
Full details on how to watch the fourth episode of Andor can be found below, including start time, streaming info and more:
Andor episode 5 will be released on Disney Plus on Wednesday 5th October 2022 at 8am BST.
For our fellow Star Wars fans across the pond, that will be an earlier start of 12am PDT / 2am CDT / 3am EDT.
Andor season 1 consists of 12 episodes in total.
Andor continued on Disney Plus this week, with a brand-new episode which saw Cassian meet the rebels.
The first three episodes landed on the streamer all at once back on 21st September, but the series has now switched to a weekly drop, with each new instalment arriving one by one.
This latest of Disney Plus's live action Star Wars shows, which joins The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett and Obi Wan Kenobi on the platform, follows Diego Luna's Cassian Andor, the character first introduced in the 2016 film Rogue One.
The series has already begun to dive into Cassian's background, with a combination of childhood flashbacks and scenes set five years before he met Felicity Jones's Jyn Erso.
In episodes 1 to 4 we have been introduced to a whole new set of characters, including the mysterious Luthen Rael (Stellan Skarsgård in the Andor cast) and Cassian's adopted mother Maarva, played by Killing Eve's Fiona Shaw.
Adria Arjona, Denise Gough and Kyle Soller also play new characters, while Genevieve O'Reilly has returned to the franchise as Mon Mothma, a senator trying to do good as the Empire's evil operations grow.
But when does the fifth episode of Andor drop on Disney Plus? Read on to find out.
Andor episode 5 release date on Disney Plus
You technically don't need to have seen Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in order to enjoy Andor as the show takes place several years earlier and is relatively unconnected (at least, to begin with).
However, refreshing your memory of the movie may bring some added context to how the show unfolds, so it's quite helpful that it happens to be streaming on Disney Plus as well.
The film sees Cassian Andor team up with a ragtag group of rebels, led by Jyn Erso, for a dangerous mission to steal the Death Star plans – setting up the events of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.
