German architectural historian Prof. Dr. Leo Schmidt studied history of art, classical archaeology and history at the University of Freiburg and at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. He holds a PhD from the University of Freiburg and previously worked in the State Office for Cultural Heritage Management in the German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg. Professor Schmidt currently teaches architectural conservation at the Brandenburg University of Technology in Cottbus, Germany.
