Honestly, I like the approach Jamie Loftus took here: treating American spiritualism like just another religion, which it is. These are sincerely held beliefs for practitioners. And it's still informative too.

I very much appreciate that Jamie isn't afraid to put spiritualism on the same level as other religions. But, as a former Christian I was disappointed by the one-sided description of Christianity. No need to bring one faith down to elevate another. My experience was different from Jamie's and I didn't hear it represented. Instead of condemnation, I was taught forgiveness. I am always sorry to hear some have had different experiences, but this podcast felt like it was trying to tear down the one-sided beliefs about spiritualism (awesome!) while promoting a one-sided opinion of just one other religion (bummer). Not necessary to tear down one faith while attempting to enlighten listeners about another.
