WE ARE STILL TROY DAVIS RALLY & MEMORIAL AFRIKAN DRUM CIRCLE-1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THE MURDER OF TROY DAVIS!

Join us at Troy Davis Park (aka Robert Woodruff Park) downtown Atlanta, 7:00pm on September 21st as we commemorate the one year anniversary of the murder of Troy Davis, an innocent man whose life was taken by the state. We will also be paying homage to two of Troys family members, his mother Virginia Davis who, according to her daughter Martina, "died of a broken heart" shortly after Troy Davis' final appeal was denied and a few months before his execution...“I just think my mother died of a broken heart, but she made sure we were strong enough to deal with this,” Correia said. “It’s not just the inmate who is on Death Row. That whole family is on Death Row.” (source http://blackamericaweb.com/). Troys sister Martina Correia also transcended after losing an 11 year battle with breast cancer just months after Troys execution. We hold the state fully responsible for ALL of the Davis families losses and on September 21st we will show that we have not, and will never forget their blatant disregard for human life and the hypocrisy and corruption of the U.S. Injustice System.WE ARE STILL TROY DAVIS!

The rally will include a drum circle, guest speakers, and spoken word selections. This is an event for everyone! We encourage all people, organizations, religious groups, political groups, etc... to join in on the memorial. Because WE are the people"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." Martin Luther King Jr.This event will be immediately followed by the "National Day of Action Against Mass Incarceration" By Georgians For Prison Abolition. Please support both events! Please support the Davis family!September 21st, 2012 - Troy Davis Park (Woodruff Park)7pm - Rally and Drum Circle9pm - March Against Mass Incarceration to the Martin Luther King Center - Auburn Avenue11:08pm - Vigil to mark the anniversary of Troy Davis' murder***PLEASE FORWARD AND SHARE AMONGST YOUR NETWORKS***
