Well, hello there. Welcome to
0:02
Fireside Chat. Are you ready? Number 300.
0:08
And I even have an official streamer,
0:11
blower, squeaker, squawker.
0:15
Very effective. That was an
0:17
embarrassing moment, I have to say. Anyway,
0:20
it is number 300. I'm Dennis Prager, and
0:23
the CEO of PragerU,
0:25
Marissa Streit, is with us to
0:27
celebrate and to bring you actually extremely
0:31
significant news about PragerU. So
0:33
it's a double,
0:36
really wonderful broadcast of
0:38
the Fireside Chat. And
0:41
just to be philosophic for a moment, because I can't
0:43
help it, I'm just philosophic
0:46
by nature.
0:47
And I have mentioned this on a number
0:50
of occasions, I'll say it again. To
0:53
do things, to achieve things
0:55
in life,
0:57
is slow and steady
1:00
is the best way.
1:02
And when I think about it, that
1:04
this is the 300th. You
1:06
know, we didn't do 300 in 300 days. We did 300 in six years. But
1:12
it works that way. It's a good lesson
1:14
for life. Just keep working
1:17
at something.
1:18
You don't have to go crazy, but
1:20
you have to be consistent. And
1:23
it's worked.
1:24
And I will say one other thing about the Fireside
1:27
Chat, which is important to me personally.
1:30
If you watched numbers 10, 47,
1:33
211, 3, well, we're not up to 3, you know, 114,
1:35
you would benefit. I
1:45
don't think anything is dated.
1:48
Some things might have
1:50
had to do with some things that were taking place. I
1:52
spoke a lot about lockdowns and
1:54
why I thought they were a catastrophe. But
1:57
that alone is worth watching.
1:59
would somebody be say
2:01
things so different than what
2:04
the dominant media, the
2:07
dominant scientists, the dominant
2:10
teachers unions were all saying?
2:13
I think there's a lot of lessons to be learned
2:15
there. I'm proud of the fact that
2:17
I didn't buy that stuff and explain
2:20
to you at the time why I didn't.
2:22
So the fireside chat has
2:25
gone through some very interesting years and
2:27
we hope for many more years
2:30
to come. So Marissa,
2:32
I believe you were here for 250, 200, 200.
2:35
So you come
2:37
every hundred. That's fine. I think
2:39
that's a nice tradition to
2:41
establish. Wow. 400. Well
2:45
that's only, it's only two years.
2:48
Yeah. God willing, as they say, God
2:50
willing and God willing will have good
2:52
things to report every time. That's exactly
2:55
right. Put this away cause it's making
2:57
noise. One more time. All
3:00
of them for me. Whose
3:06
idea was this? Nathan
3:08
was your idea. I don't think Snoopy
3:10
likes that noise. Oh that
3:12
did it. You're right. Oh,
3:14
that is so sad. Well
3:17
anyway, did they catch, did you folks catch,
3:19
did they catch Snoopy at least?
3:22
Well, I wonder what
3:24
was the last episode Otto was
3:27
on? Cause you know, I mean,
3:29
we're still publishing Otto's tales. For
3:31
sure. As we should be. Yes. Otto
3:34
truly lives on. There's
3:36
no question about it. Legacy
3:38
of Otto. Well,
3:40
anyway, the fireside chat was,
3:42
I don't even know whose idea it was. We
3:45
had no idea if it had any legs. Me
3:48
sitting in my house, just
3:50
alone talking to people and
3:53
God as it worked out and
3:57
it's unique in anything
3:59
that I do.
3:59
And I can't explain exactly why. It's
4:02
very intimate. Maybe that's part
4:04
of it. It's very real. I try to everything
4:06
I do to be real, but it is. So
4:09
okay. So it's the 300th and
4:11
thank you all
4:13
for being with us for
4:15
the celebration. But we have some extremely,
4:17
extremely significant news. And
4:20
the person best equipped to tell
4:22
it is Marissa. I'll
4:24
say one thing, philosophic.
4:29
So it's an interesting thing.
4:33
I believe you're a gift. I don't believe.
4:36
I know you're a gift to us. Don't even react.
4:38
It's just everybody knows that. So
4:41
the only question is, and this
4:43
is a question, and I don't have an answer.
4:47
Was it good luck that
4:49
we found you or was it God's
4:52
will? And
4:54
I'm not being cute. I'm not being
4:56
even complimentary. It's a compliment,
4:58
but that's not meant. I don't have
5:00
an answer philosophically to that question.
5:04
I deeply believe in God, but I
5:06
don't know.
5:08
I never feel I can
5:10
say God did X or Y
5:12
or Z in my life. Because
5:16
how do I know?
5:18
And yet it's so
5:21
remarkable that you're in my
5:23
life and in PragerU. How
5:27
long did we exist before you came on?
5:29
A day? One
5:32
day. Is that true? Pretty
5:36
much PragerU really started
5:38
in my kitchen after you
5:41
and Alan met with me.
5:45
Right by the studios in Glendale
5:48
where you have your radio
5:50
show and Alan bought
5:52
me a laptop and basically
5:54
said, okay, George Washington. By the
5:56
way, he blew the whole budget by
5:58
getting you a laptop. That was about what
6:01
we had. Right, right. We had
6:03
some very little seed money to
6:05
get started, like many other nonprofits.
6:07
And he said, okay, well, Marissa, you're like George Washington,
6:10
a general without an army, go figure
6:12
it out. And, you know,
6:16
thanks to Alan and you and the fact
6:18
that you believed in me, we kind of took
6:20
one step at a time. And you talk about the fireside chat,
6:22
not knowing really where it's gonna go.
6:24
I mean, that has really been the story of PragerU,
6:27
right? We could get so overwhelmed
6:29
if we think about all the things that we need to fix in America,
6:32
specifically in the world of education. But
6:34
we realized early on is that we should
6:36
just take one step at a time and keep
6:39
experimenting and keep going. And
6:41
the more we did, the more we realized
6:43
we could do more. And that has really
6:46
been the story of us
6:48
over the last 13 years. I
6:51
feel the same way. Did God lead me to
6:54
you? I mean, you have had such an impact
6:56
on my personal life, beyond the career
6:59
and the work that we have done together. I
7:01
know I'm a better mother. I know
7:03
I'm a better wife. I know I'm a better friend. I
7:05
know I'm a better leader, thanks
7:08
to all the wisdom that I have received
7:10
from working with you and learning from you and listening
7:13
to you. I know that there are a lot of people out
7:15
there who are
7:16
listening that feel the same way. I mean, just,
7:18
you have this ability to touch people with
7:21
wisdom. And so many
7:23
trees have grown from that.
7:26
Well, you're a big tree. You're
7:29
a forest. Okay, so
7:31
what's the big news?
7:32
So the big news is that
7:35
we are now making it into schools.
7:37
And Prager, you have started with a
7:39
direct to consumer model. Our concept
7:42
was that America schools are failing
7:44
us, whether it's kindergarten
7:46
through 12th grade or college. We
7:49
know that when we send our kids to school,
7:51
we're playing Russian roulette with their values.
7:54
And so originally we realized that if
7:56
we could only make content that would reach
7:59
our consumers. directly so that they can
8:01
inoculate their kids or kids
8:03
that really want to learn more are able to find
8:05
us on the internet online, they would
8:07
be able to learn what is not being taught in
8:09
schools. And for the first 10 years,
8:11
that was really our model, just make content
8:14
and disseminate it on the internet. Over
8:16
the last two years, we launched a new initiative
8:19
called PragerU Kids, where we started
8:21
making animated shows that take actual
8:25
things that kids should be learning in schools, K through
8:27
12th grade educational tools.
8:30
And we put them on the online through
8:32
our website, through we have an
8:34
OTT, just like Netflix has a little
8:36
app, PragerU has an app and millions
8:39
of parents have downloaded this app and
8:42
have been showing our content on
8:44
their iPads or phones or even on
8:47
our website. And that has been massively
8:49
successful. But most recently,
8:51
we've been able to create a new journey for our
8:54
customers, a new way for kids
8:56
to find PragerU material.
8:59
And that is by
8:59
actually creating turnkey lesson
9:02
plans for schools. Our
9:04
first partner
9:06
is Florida. And so Florida has
9:08
made us a state approved vendor. This
9:10
means that if a teacher uses PragerU
9:13
content, PragerU turnkey lesson
9:15
plans in schools, they should not get
9:17
fired. If they want to purchase any
9:20
of our magazines or books, they can receive state
9:22
funds to purchase them. And so they're not
9:24
out of pocket. And they
9:26
can find our content on the portal
9:29
so that they have more access and more visibility
9:32
to what PragerU is making. And
9:34
we are working very closely with the state
9:37
of Florida to make sure that the videos that we make
9:39
actually echo the state standards.
9:42
And so it's really a partnership
9:46
that we have developed with the state
9:48
educators. This is not just happening
9:50
in Florida, but much of what we're
9:52
seeing in the media right
9:54
now, Florida has been very bold about
9:57
giving the power back to the parents because
9:59
the
9:59
teachers unions have really tried
10:02
to suffocate us out of being involved
10:04
in our kids education. So
10:08
Florida, I'm just reviewing. So
10:11
Florida has announced we're
10:13
official. PragerU materials are
10:15
official. A teacher has
10:17
full permission of the state to use it. No
10:20
school can fire a teacher for doing it. So
10:23
obviously it raises the question. Has any
10:25
teacher been fired for using PragerU
10:27
material?
10:28
Yes. Not necessarily in Florida.
10:30
No, no, not in Florida. Yes. There are many teachers
10:33
who have been fired for using PragerU
10:35
material. Really? Yeah. I
10:37
mean, the SPLC, the Southern Poverty
10:40
Law Center, has put us on
10:42
some sort of hate list. I mean, they themselves
10:44
are a hate group. And so, you know,
10:46
these schools are
10:47
just a group. By the way, we have a video on
10:50
the Southern Poverty Law Center. It
10:53
is truly a vile organization
10:56
of left wing haters. That's all it
10:58
is. Their
11:00
job is to smear anyone
11:03
with whom they differ. Period. And
11:06
that they are cited is depressing.
11:10
Right. I mean, and we
11:13
also know about NewsGuard. So NewsGuard
11:15
has a partnership with the teachers'
11:18
unions. And so
11:20
when kids go online
11:22
in schools, there is this alert
11:24
that shows up that says that the content that
11:26
PragerU makes is misinformation. And
11:29
so schools have been using that as
11:31
a reason to reprimand teachers
11:33
who use
11:34
our content. Oh, interesting.
11:37
That's what they do. That's what they do. If
11:41
any right wing organization said
11:44
this is misinformation, would
11:47
any school put it up? Of course not. Right.
11:50
Right. Which ironically would be accurate
11:52
because there is so much misinformation. Like
11:55
America was founded in 1619.
11:57
Exactly. Like slaves built
11:59
the. country. Slaves
12:02
built plantations. Slaves
12:04
didn't build America. If slaves built
12:07
America, why didn't they build Brazil?
12:10
There were about 10 times more slaves
12:12
brought to Brazil than to
12:14
the United States. Brazil should be the richest
12:16
country in the Western Hemisphere if
12:19
slaves build country. The poorest
12:21
part of America was the South. That was
12:23
where slaves were.
12:25
It's not a knock on slaves.
12:28
It's a knock on lying.
12:30
But they lie
12:32
a lot. They lie about us. So
12:35
let me now, because we talked about this. So
12:37
let me just very quickly deal with
12:39
we're not accredited. We're
12:42
not a PhD
12:44
or degree granting institution.
12:46
We say that on the
12:49
front of everything
12:51
we put out. It is you go
12:53
to PragerU.com.
12:56
That message is there. We are
12:58
not accredited, which means we're not an official
13:01
degree granting, diploma
13:03
granting organization. To
13:05
which my response is, so what?
13:09
And therefore what? Therefore
13:12
you can't learn. Aristotle
13:14
didn't get a PhD. Should
13:17
we study Aristotle?
13:19
They make it sound as if
13:22
that is the only thing
13:27
you can learn from, a place
13:29
that grants degrees.
13:32
But that isn't even true.
13:35
Are they pro Hillsdale College? Hillsdale
13:38
is accredited. Hillsdale grants degrees.
13:41
They hate Hillsdale as much as they hate us.
13:44
Right. Well, you talk about accreditation.
13:46
So one part of it is the people who
13:49
give the accreditations are really
13:52
supported by institutions that are an extension
13:54
of left wing arms.
13:57
If you look at the teachers unions and the
14:00
type of impact or influence that they have
14:02
on the Department of Education. They practically
14:04
own the Department of Education. And
14:07
so we have realized early on that if we
14:09
have to be accredited, we would have
14:11
to do all of the mental gymnastics to
14:13
fit in with what it is that they're expecting
14:15
us to do. And then we would fall into that
14:18
same trap of not being able to teach
14:20
the things or speak about the things that
14:23
are controlled by these large institutions.
14:25
But what's really interesting with PragerUKids
14:27
and this new initiative that we have right now is
14:30
that many states recognize that
14:33
there are ways for kids to learn things
14:35
not through accredited institutions. So several
14:38
states are enacting this new
14:40
program called Learn Everywhere. And
14:43
Learn Everywhere is fascinating because
14:45
they're realizing that there are kids who are learning incredible
14:48
things and doing incredible things that they
14:50
should get school credit for. For
14:52
example, my kids go to something called the Russian
14:55
School of Math on the weekends. Now I know this sounds
14:57
really overwhelming. Why am I sending my
14:59
kids to learn extra math on the weekends?
15:02
But that's one of the things that is important
15:04
to us as a family. Why shouldn't
15:06
my kid actually get school credit
15:09
for learning extra math, even more
15:11
math than what they're learning in school? Or
15:13
there are many kids who are incredibly athletic
15:15
and they're part of maybe a certain
15:18
team or part of a league and
15:20
they work out every day. Is there a reason
15:23
why these kids can't get physical
15:26
ed credit for school? So
15:28
if you think about that and you realize
15:30
that kids can really learn everywhere, why should
15:33
a kid who is learning from PragerU,
15:35
let's say the entire financial literacy
15:37
module, why should they
15:39
not get credit for learning financial
15:41
literacy if they can actually show that
15:44
they're able to complete the entire
15:46
module? And so we're actually working
15:48
with several states right now on giving
15:52
school credit to children who are
15:54
completing our modules. And
15:57
that is an incredible thing. Again, bringing
15:59
the power. our back to the parents, allowing
16:02
the parents to encourage their kids
16:04
to do extra because they will get credit
16:06
for it. This is one of those amazing
16:08
things that we're learning as we're developing this
16:11
PragerU Kids platform.
16:13
Bill Bennett, the former Education
16:16
Secretary and DrugsR was
16:18
in this house many years ago and
16:21
his son was with him
16:23
and he went to Princeton, the
16:25
son. He said, I just want you to know,
16:27
Dennis, I learned more at PragerU than
16:29
at Princeton.
16:31
Yeah. Okay, but Princeton is accredited. Right.
16:34
Just for the record, I do believe that.
16:38
I believe that clearly you're
16:40
not gonna learn physics, chemistry, biology,
16:43
any of the stems, science, technology,
16:46
engineering, math at PragerU. We don't
16:48
teach it, you don't learn it here.
16:50
But with regard to life, understanding
16:53
life, history, the world,
16:56
theology, the
16:57
meaning of life, how
17:00
to be a better human being, you
17:02
would do much better watching all our videos
17:05
than going to almost any college.
17:07
We're talking to many schools about
17:09
giving kids credit for
17:12
learning civics through PragerU. We have a great
17:14
kids show, which by the way is really
17:16
fun. We believe in edutainment or
17:19
like I learned growing up in
17:21
a Jewish household, teach them with honey,
17:23
right? Learning should be a really fun thing. It should
17:25
not feel like a chore. And so we
17:27
try to make our content as entertaining
17:30
as possible. And so teachers really love
17:32
it because we're helping these teachers
17:34
make great lesson plans. What
17:37
a great way to learn civics. What a great way
17:39
to learn American history. Why do
17:41
we have a nation with amnesia,
17:43
as you would say, 13% of
17:46
Americans know what they
17:48
need to know about American history, but
17:50
they can watch our videos, learn
17:53
it.
17:53
Get a certificate provided
17:55
to their schools and the schools can
17:57
give them credit for it. Why not if they know
17:59
that?
17:59
this stuff. Let me show you how the
18:02
left wing covers this news, which
18:05
is driving them crazy that Florida
18:07
has now officially accepted
18:10
PragerU material.
18:12
New at 11 after putting in place
18:14
new standards, the state's education
18:16
commissioner says prevents indoctrination
18:19
in schools. Florida's Department of Education
18:21
has approved educational materials
18:23
from a conservative radio talk show host.
18:26
The CEO of PragerU posted
18:28
this message online.
18:30
We have seen that our schools have been
18:32
hijacked by the left. They have
18:34
been politicized. They have been used
18:36
by union bosses. They have been doing
18:39
everything under the sun, not for
18:41
our children. And the state of Florida just
18:43
announced that we are now becoming an
18:46
official vendor.
18:47
This means that if you are a teacher in
18:50
Florida, you cannot be fired for using
18:52
PragerU content. PragerU
18:55
Kids is a nonprofit and offers its
18:57
content for free on YouTube.
19:00
Critics have called it radical right wing
19:02
content and a statement
19:03
to New 6, FDOE
19:05
says that a Florida Department of Education
19:08
reviewed PragerU Kids and determined
19:10
the material aligns to Florida's revised
19:13
civics and government standards. PragerU
19:15
Kids is no different than many other resources
19:18
which can be used as supplemental materials
19:20
in Florida schools. And from
19:22
the daily beast. And by the way, I believe
19:24
in free speech, they have the right to object,
19:27
but they lie
19:29
because truth is not a left wing value.
19:32
It's a liberal value and a conservative value,
19:34
not a left wing value. So listen to this.
19:38
The right wing advocacy
19:40
group, PragerU. So
19:43
interesting, what makes us right wing?
19:47
It's an interesting question. I won't
19:49
get into that now. I will only
19:51
say right wing for the left means
19:54
anything that
19:56
reveals to the world what the left
19:58
is about, not liberals. We're not anti-liberal.
20:01
We're pro-liberal as it happens because
20:04
we share most values with liberals leftists
20:07
fair share no values with liberals
20:10
so anyone who sort
20:13
of Alerts the world to
20:15
the mortal danger of leftism
20:18
is a right wing. Okay fine The
20:20
right wing advocacy group Prager you
20:23
infamous for publishing
20:26
nationalistic videos So
20:29
you click on it. It's got a URL
20:31
and is that the Yoram Hasoni one? Okay,
20:34
so a word on that first of all, it says videos.
20:37
We have 550 videos
20:40
one
20:40
is on nationalism
20:42
But we're infamous for nationalistic
20:45
media. So it's a lie Secondly
20:48
people should watch it
20:50
and then you decide if that's
20:52
a bad thing a good thing mixed
20:55
bag I Just
20:58
want people to understand there
21:00
is good nationalism and bad
21:03
nationalism Why is that
21:05
so complex?
21:07
The celebration of a good nation is
21:09
good nationalism the celebration
21:12
of a bad nation is bad nationalism
21:16
so Context is
21:18
everything Do we
21:20
want to abolish nations? The
21:22
left does actually therefore anything
21:25
that celebrates nations is
21:27
bad next what else do they say and
21:29
for its founders That's me
21:32
hate of pride month
21:34
So I pretty much
21:37
know what I have said in my life that
21:39
I ever say I hate pride month So
21:42
again, there's an underline you
21:44
click on it. So one one
21:47
thing that comes up is one of my
21:49
columns
21:50
So
21:52
my issue was not
21:55
pride month
21:56
My issue was the whole pride issue. So
21:59
I owe you'll love this
21:59
I opened up with the story of my
22:03
bar mitzvah. One of my gifts was
22:05
a book, Great Jews
22:08
in Sports. It was not a thick
22:10
book. OK, all the
22:12
jokes we know. Right. OK. And
22:15
but I said in my
22:17
article, that's what I opened with. Now,
22:19
am I anti-Jewish? Because
22:21
I don't I said I didn't understand
22:23
at 13 what was
22:26
there to be proud about about great
22:28
Jewish boxers or baseball
22:30
players. I didn't relate to it. I
22:32
still don't relate to it. And
22:34
I at the end, I asked a very important
22:37
question. If you are going
22:39
to take pride in members of your
22:41
ethnic or racial or religious group,
22:44
will you also take shame in
22:46
the ones that do bad? People only
22:48
have it in one direction. There have
22:50
been shameful Jews. There have been terrific
22:52
Jews. There have been shameful blacks, terrific
22:55
blacks, shameful gays, terrific
22:57
gays. So I don't understand.
23:00
That was the whole point of my column. I
23:02
don't understand if you
23:05
didn't achieve something. What are you taking pride
23:07
in? And they listed as Prager's
23:10
known for my hate
23:13
of Pride Month. This
23:15
is what they do. It was a beautiful
23:17
piece about let's celebrate
23:20
achievements, not groups.
23:23
Mm hmm. You should also
23:25
know and notate that David
23:27
Blumberg gave us the seed
23:29
money to make PragerU happen. David
23:32
Blumberg, who is one of our board members.
23:34
And I believe you're a godparent
23:36
to his kids.
23:37
Yes, exactly. He's gay. He's
23:40
he's married to a man. He's
23:42
a board member. He
23:44
gave the seed money. My wife and
23:47
I are, as you point out, godparents
23:49
to this couple's children. They
23:52
know, everyone knows that I
23:55
have been opposed to Oh, let's
23:57
put it this way. I have been for keeping
23:59
the marriage. marriage definition, male and female.
24:02
They know it, I know it, and yet
24:04
I love them, and they love me enough
24:07
that if, what does God parent mean? If
24:09
God forbid they die, my wife and
24:11
I are the moral
24:13
educators of their children.
24:15
Well, one of the reasons why David- Of a gay
24:17
couple's children, I just wanna make that clear.
24:20
Well, one of the reasons why David supported
24:23
PragerU Kids and continues to do so is because
24:26
he is concerned that kids are
24:28
sexualized in classrooms. He
24:30
is concerned with the
24:31
education of- Yes, he has our values.
24:34
He's a gay who has our values. Why
24:36
wouldn't a gay have our values? That's
24:39
the point.
24:39
And so, but they try to attack
24:41
us, making this claim that we hate
24:43
gay people. I mean, as you said in the- Or that I hate
24:46
Pride Month, as if I love all pride
24:48
except LGBTQ pride. I'm
24:51
not a Pride fan, okay? That's
24:53
it. The Daily Beast is
24:56
just lying. These
24:58
are all lies.
24:59
So, okay, fine. So
25:02
the rest is just a description.
25:05
But I want you who, probably
25:07
any of you watching,
25:09
hear
25:11
things about us, check
25:13
into it, click on the underlie,
25:16
the URL, the link,
25:19
and then see what did Dennis
25:22
really say? What did Prager
25:24
you really say?
25:26
And then not only will you realize
25:28
we were lied about,
25:31
you could be proud of what
25:33
we said. It's
25:36
usually morally beautiful. What
25:40
else did we have any other attacks to read?
25:42
Well, you know, one
25:43
of the main criticisms against us
25:45
is that we teach that America is
25:48
a good place, right? We teach Americanism.
25:50
So it's not just nationalism that upsets
25:52
them. It's also the patriotism in our education,
25:55
which I don't understand why people
25:57
would have a hard time. understanding
26:00
that we need to raise kids that love their
26:03
country. How are they going to grow up to defend
26:05
America if they don't understand America
26:08
and love America? What nation on
26:10
planet earth is teaching its students
26:12
to hate its country? It makes no
26:15
sense. And I think one of the reasons why
26:17
so many parents love the PragerU content
26:19
and why millions of them have been using
26:22
our videos is because they do want to raise
26:24
kids that have national pride.
26:27
And this is something that is becoming less
26:29
and less
26:29
popular in schools
26:33
through the popularization of left-wing
26:35
education in public
26:38
schools and even private schools.
26:39
To not
26:41
be grateful to have been
26:43
born in America or to
26:45
have become an American citizen.
26:48
So talk about education and
26:51
gratitude. So I have a line.
26:54
In America you get a BA in ingratitude,
26:57
a
26:57
master's in ingratitude, and
27:00
then a PhD in ingratitude. Right.
27:03
To not be grateful
27:04
for America is
27:07
really I think one of the reasons why so many kids
27:09
are unhappy.
27:10
Well, what are they grateful
27:13
for?
27:14
What is the, what name
27:17
one thing leftists are grateful for? They're
27:19
not grateful for America. They're not grateful for their
27:21
religion. They're not grateful for
27:23
their freedom. What are they grateful for?
27:26
And it's an open question. It's not a, it's not
27:28
even an attack question. I'd like to know, I know
27:31
what liberals are grateful for. I know what conservatives
27:33
are grateful for, what a leftist grateful for.
27:36
And that's why they're unhappy. And every
27:39
poll, even left-wing polls
27:41
say conservatives are more happy than leftists. And
27:44
I'll
27:44
tell you one of the big reasons. We're
27:46
grateful.
27:48
That alone is a reason why parents
27:50
should turn their kids on to PragerU. That's right. To
27:52
raise happy kids. It's not just
27:54
the knowledge that they're getting from us. It's
27:56
the values that they were getting for us.
27:59
the word is at the
28:01
left eight hour
28:03
stuff is wholesome more
28:06
wholesome is like a dead adjective
28:08
fine but
28:09
but it's so
28:11
it it so it's not
28:13
jaded it's
28:16
like i always an almost
28:18
always i can tell if a kid is been home
28:20
schooled and you know how they're
28:23
not jaded her they
28:25
have an open smile
28:27
that you've always associated
28:30
with young people and no no
28:32
longer
28:32
or home school has worked very
28:35
well for families because they really you
28:37
know they not only learn gratitude
28:39
but they actually get knowledge or share
28:41
of iranian what's happening in our schools
28:43
i think one of the reasons why everybody is so
28:45
frustrated as because we send
28:47
them there for hours and ill during the lockdowns
28:50
parents have been able to see what is happening
28:52
you send your kid there for hours and you
28:55
have nothing to show for it like what did you
28:57
learn to date nothing is the
28:59
reason the child is saying that they learn nothing
29:01
today because
29:03
they really get out
29:04
learn nothing probably the answer
29:06
your last year get out there either bored
29:09
because you know they don't have teachers
29:11
that have the right tools to have a great lessons
29:14
or they're bored because frankly
29:16
we have not been able to fire bad teacher
29:18
zero and california only
29:21
less than three out of three
29:23
hundred teachers get fired every year
29:26
have you run a business where you can't fire
29:28
for actually are york
29:31
state will raise the different question
29:33
and be when you said how
29:35
do you i thought you we'll see how
29:37
do you get fired
29:38
how mates impossible to get by
29:40
or what do you do because the unions
29:42
you don't care about our kids and so
29:44
no few of our waking up we want
29:47
our kids to learn stuff you know we're working
29:49
with the state of texas right now which is a fascinating
29:51
project they're starting to bring core knowledge
29:54
into their education system where where
29:56
kids can actually have some cultural
29:58
literacy where is were they can
29:59
learn stuff and what we're doing is
30:02
we're taking the core knowledge
30:04
curriculum that Texas is developing
30:06
and we're turning it into what we call
30:08
these turnkey lesson plans so
30:10
that the teachers can actually use
30:13
the content that we're making, the videos,
30:15
the way to check for understandings and
30:18
actually have successful lessons
30:20
with kids. We don't want our kids
30:22
to be bored in school, we don't want our kids
30:24
to not remember anything, we want
30:27
parents to get involved again. You know how many times
30:30
I've heard from teachers, oh
30:32
the job of a parent is to just bathe
30:35
the kids, feed them, pick them up,
30:37
make sure that they get a good night's sleep. If
30:39
a teacher says that to you, you know
30:42
you need to run. That is not true. Parents
30:44
need to be engaged in their kids education
30:46
and how many times have we asked
30:48
for either the curriculum or the lesson
30:51
plans and we have not been able to gain
30:53
access to that. So one of the things that we're also
30:55
pushing through this initiative is what we call the
30:57
flipped classroom where the videos
31:00
that are shown in class can also
31:02
be
31:02
found on our portal, on
31:04
our website, on our OTT at home
31:06
so the parents can sit together with their
31:09
kids and you know the unions don't want that. The
31:11
unions want to teach whatever it is that they want to indoctrinate
31:13
our kids with. We want the parents to get
31:16
involved. We want the parents to watch the same videos
31:18
at home with their kids and then the
31:21
teachers can use those same videos for reinforcement.
31:24
This stuff is revolutionary in education
31:27
but essentially it's what we're trying to do. We're trying
31:29
to disrupt a market that has not changed
31:32
in a hundred and seventy five years. This
31:34
is the one industry in America that
31:36
has not really developed because
31:38
there's
31:39
been such a monopoly over education
31:42
in America that we have not been able to
31:44
see real progress. So
31:46
is this an acceptable birthday gift to you that
31:48
we're helping change America for
31:51
the better? If there is a better one, well cigars
31:54
are better. Except
31:57
for cigars.
31:59
What could be a better gift?
32:02
I completely agree August is
32:04
my birthday as well, and I can't think
32:06
of a better gift Yes, exactly.
32:08
So happy birthday Dennis.
32:09
Thank you. It's a great birthday.
32:11
Thank you very much. I just
32:14
also want to add before
32:16
we say goodbye That
32:20
when you folks Hear
32:23
about our videos and all the
32:25
what I showed these examples of
32:28
lies if
32:31
you
32:31
Looked at the subject matter
32:34
of the of the nearly six hundred
32:36
five minute videos aside from just purely
32:39
kid stuff
32:41
So much of it is about
32:43
being a better human being Getting
32:46
married working hard
32:48
living by the Ten Commandments Vast
32:54
numbers of it are pure history We
32:57
have a video we're working on videos
32:59
on every one of the presidents and
33:01
they are as fair as fair can be
33:04
You could not know any of
33:07
the political views of Prager you
33:09
watching our
33:10
presidential series Or
33:13
our John you at at
33:15
Berkeley Law School on the Constitution
33:19
You would you it would be difficult
33:22
to ascertain His
33:24
his political views he just explaining
33:26
the Constitution and
33:28
by the way, we have professors from Harvard
33:31
Berkeley Yale Princeton pen
33:35
Columbia You name
33:37
it are all these people
33:40
part of the the
33:42
hate group That the Southern
33:44
Poverty Law Center says we are these
33:47
professors would make videos for a hate group
33:50
It's such a good point because you
33:52
know the left scholastic highlights.
33:54
These are organizations that make kids
33:57
content They're not labeled
33:59
as left-w but look at their content,
34:01
it's as left wing as it gets. Our
34:04
content, especially PragerU Kids, is
34:06
the least political content you will
34:08
ever find. I'm wearing right now these
34:10
earrings, as you could see them, from
34:13
a show that we're about to launch about entrepreneurship.
34:16
There is nothing political about our
34:18
entrepreneurship show. It's really about encouraging
34:21
kids to start businesses, to learn how to hustle.
34:23
The show is called The Hustle. And it
34:25
really is about teaching skills so
34:28
that when these kids grow up, they can go and
34:30
start their own businesses and we want to revive
34:33
the entrepreneurial spirit in America. There's
34:35
nothing political about that. There's nothing political
34:37
about our financial literacy. Yeah,
34:38
but it's healthy. They hate the healthy.
34:40
Correct. They don't want, I
34:42
mean, sometimes I wonder whether they even want our
34:44
kids to be successful. It's
34:47
unbelievable to me. Like they want to keep them down.
34:49
What we want to do is lift our children.
34:51
Well said.
34:54
It's a very big, it's a big deal that
34:56
the 300th fireside chat and
34:59
Florida, are there other states that you can mention
35:02
that are working, we're working with? We're working
35:04
with a whole bunch of states. We'll continue
35:06
to make more announcements. But
35:08
I'll tell you that the superintendents
35:10
and the state commissioners have been thanking
35:13
us because they have been telling us that they
35:15
have worked so hard to either, you know,
35:18
gain those positions where they do have the
35:20
ability to make change, but they
35:23
actually need the right content. And so imagine
35:25
you just joined a school board and
35:27
you want to clean it up. You want
35:29
to bring wholesome content, but you don't have access
35:31
to wholesome content, right? So
35:34
we have this vacuum in the market that PragerU
35:36
is now trying to fill and say, well, if
35:38
you're a local community and you're able to bring
35:41
good stuff to your kids, well,
35:44
what can you lean on? Like I mentioned, you can't
35:46
lean on Scholastic. You can lean on
35:48
highlights. You can't lean on some of these legacy
35:50
organizations that have already been manipulated
35:53
and taken over by the left. We
35:56
are trying to fill in this gap as
35:58
fast as we can. And by the way, for... those who
36:00
are listening and inspired by this, you
36:02
should know that we are being attacked viciously
36:05
by the left. You read one article, I
36:07
have a stack of articles here. We have Yahoo,
36:09
there's a lot of local news
36:12
articles that are coming out attacking
36:14
us. So we need support and people
36:16
can go to PragerU.com, sign our petition
36:18
to state that you do believe
36:21
that PragerU Kids belongs in schools,
36:23
right? Because the media is gonna say that
36:25
PragerU Kids does not belong in schools. Sign
36:27
our petition, support us. The stuff
36:30
is not cheap to make. People who understand
36:32
the world of edutainment
36:35
or entertainment or education need
36:37
to know that we need to hire more teachers, we need to hire
36:39
more animators and illustrators. And so anybody
36:42
that wants to help save America's
36:45
kids' minds should go to PragerU.com
36:47
and enlist in helping us out.
36:49
That's right. And
36:52
we're kicking off fundraising month. Yes,
36:55
we're kicking off fundraising month. That's
36:58
correct. So go to PragerU.com,
37:00
please make a donation. Everything we
37:02
do is free. It's exactly
37:04
right. I
37:06
can summarize it this way.
37:09
We are trying
37:11
to make happy and
37:13
grateful kids.
37:16
They are trying to make angry
37:18
kids. They're succeeding
37:22
and we're succeeding.
