Diddy speaks out for the first time since the video leaked of him brutally assaulting Cassie .
Diddy has finally spoken about Cassie's videotaped beating, admitting full responsibility and saying he's already been to rehab.
In a video posted Sunday morning, he said, "It's hard to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you have to. I was messed up. I hit rock bottom."
He admits there's no excuse for his behavior during the brutal March 2016 assault on his then-girlfriend Cassie at the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles. Surveillance video obtained by CNN shows Diddy chasing her down a hallway, grabbing her by the neck, hurling her to the ground, kicking her, and dragging her.
Diddy says he sought professional help after the incident, going to therapy and rehab, and asking for God's mercy and grace. He didn't specify how long he was in treatment.
He ended the video with an apology, saying, "I'm so sorry, but I'm committed to being a better man every day. I'm not asking for forgiveness. I'm truly sorry."
