In today’s episode, we have the privilege of hearing from my dad and former Raycom Media Executive Vice President, Jeff Rosser.

Prior to overseeing over a dozen local television stations around the country, Dad served as news director and general manager of several television stations including those in Tulsa, New York City, Boston, Birmingham, Dallas, Fort Smith, and Oklahoma City.

Dad shares how he “recharges his saw” through golf. His “mindset minute” centers on his views on positive leadership and the importance of empathy in leadership.

In our story segment, Dad shares his conversion story. We learn a couple of lessons in the story segment, specifically on how to evangelize. The three lessons are:

  1. The importance of patience and prayer in one’s conversion process
  2. How to respond when someone is in the curiosity threshold of conversion
  3. The importance of telling one’s story while evangelizing, specifically the story of how Christ has impacted your life

The threshold idea comes from the book Forming Intentional Disciples by Sherry Weddell. According to Weddell, each person goes through five thresholds of discipleship before going “all in” for Christ and His Church. The thresholds are:

  1. Trust
  2. Curiosity
  3. Openness
  4. Seeking
  5. Intentional Discipleship
