Going forward, Dusty Saddle Round-Up will feature a short story from the Golden Age of Western writing. These stories come from a collection of Western Magazines from 1925 to 1956.

"Steel Bound" was written by  Russell Arden Bankson and originally published by Western Magazine on April 11, 1925. Edited and read by Peter Alan Turner.

It tells the tale of a deputy sheriff and his prisoner who are bound together by steel handcuffs. Horseless in remote mountains, they struggle to survive. The outlaw is hell-bent on killing the deputy, and the deputy is just as determined to bring the outlaw to justice.
