Reminder: this is solely an opinion and NOT medical advice. This episode is meant to motivate you to question your healthcare system if you feel the care you are receiving is not the right fit for you. There is so much controversy on these diabetes medications and the very rampant abuse of them that we are seeing. It’s not normal & this is your time to critically think. As a woman with PCOS, I share my experiences and why I think holistic nutrition is not often promoted along lifestyle management. There are major inequities in our healthcare system with a lot of bias towards women and their health. Did you know women in history were labeled as hysteric & crazy? The word hysteria is derived from the uterus. Women have been labeled since the beginning of time & it’s necessary to speak out on topics where women are blamed, shamed and gaslit by our medical system. Your weight does not define your worth! A great TEDTalk on Healthcare Bias: Gender Inequality in Health HeatherBowerman TEDxBerkeley (you can find on YouTube) & also: How biases in healthcare can be deadly I Safia Hattab | TEDxHopeCollege (found on YT as well). Women need to stand together and raise awareness on the bias we still face today.
