The podcast addresses the important and urgent issue of the pollution caused by plastic and its production. There are interviews with several witnesses, experts, and officials. So there are all the ingredients for a great podcast. Unfortunately, the host seems to think she's narrating this for a class of 8 year olds, and needs to make strange sounds whenever something supposedly difficult (chemical compounds, legislation, etc) comes up. I find that very condescending, and it gets really annoying after a while. Sound design and editing is pretty decent, and overall the team did a good job of investigating the issue. With a better host, I would have given this four, maybe five stars. The terrible narration however makes a two star rating seem more appropriate. This podcast is definitely not deserving of an Emmy award.
