Dr William Davis has changed my life and hundreds of thousands of other lives beyond what I could have ever imagined!
I credit Dr. Davis with changing my life. It started when I promptly quit wheat after reading “Wheat Belly” in 2012. I was one of the people who didn’t see weight loss or metabolism improvements after quitting wheat. But I stayed with wheat elimination because I started seeing other totally unexpected health benefits, like the elimination of eczema at my temples, reduction of hot flashes, and most surprisingly, the significant reduction in the frequency and severity of the vertigo attacks I had been experiencing. It was after following the Atkins diet - induction phase for a couple of months, however, that I started to see the weight loss and energy improvements that I had been looking for. I read Wheat Belly - Total Health while I followed Atkins induction and the reasons why I saw these amazing changes started to make sense. Then I read Undoctored and that was a game changer!I am so grateful that Dr. Davis has shared his personal health journey. He managed to turn a family tragedy into a quest that has literally changed the landscape of health as we know it. It is a testament to his integrity as a physician and his pursuit of excellence. And his insatiable curiosity and passion for true health continues with this podcast and the other avenues of outreach he has employed. He is not interested in conventional wisdom or the drumbeats of diet trends. I know he is on the right track because he has managed to annoy every diet proponent out there - keto, low-carb, high fat, low fat, paleo, vegan, vegetarian, carnivore, South Beach, Atkins, the list goes on — they’ve all been mad at him. But he has demonstrated that the human body is so complex and such an intricate creation, that no one word diet is ever going to be a silver bullet or the total answer to achieving health. There are numerous complexities and exceptions that must be taken into account and we don’t know all the answers - that’s for sure. I tell my family that excellent health is the only true source of wealth. Dr. Davis has changed my life so profoundly that I feel like a “health millionaire” who is well on the way to becoming a “health billionaire.” Thank you for the Defiant Health podcast, Dr. Davis.
