Welcome to the David Douglas Prosper Network Podcast!

The David Douglas Prosper Network is a community of David Douglas School District graduates who are striving to bring better outcomes to our community through learning from each other and building our careers in business, education, construction, healthcare, policy, and much more.

In this podcast series, I will interview successful graduates to learn about their journey, career pathway, and future ambitions. We’ll talk about what has influenced them in the past, the challenges they have overcome, and what motivates them today. I hope to keep these conversations free-flowing and authentic while structuring the discussion around what success looks like to them and what success looks like in the David Douglas community. With that being said, welcome to the David Douglas Prosper Network and I hope you enjoy these conversations.

I am your host, Blake Dressel. I grew up in the David Douglas School district where I attended Gilbert Park Elementary school, Alice Ott Middle School, and Floyd Light Middle School. I graduated from David Douglas high school in 2013 and played for the water polo team.  After high school, I attended Portland Community College where I received an Oregon Transfer Degree. There, I served as the Student Body President of the Southeast campus and interned in the Oregon State Legislature. I continued my education at the University of Oregon where I received a Bachelor of Science in economics. Following graduation, I interned at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab.

Currently, I am a Science and Technology Policy Fellow at the U.S. Department of Energy. Here I develop strategies and oversee research and development focused on advancing the market adoption of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. I am also a graduate student at Stanford University where I am pursuing a Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Lastly, I am the Executive Director and co-founder and of Climate Military, a versatile community creating climate wealth through scaling sustainable climate solutions and building relationships.
