Technically this is just another minicast, but I figured that it should go on the main page, being our GREAT NEW BEGINNING!  ...and stuff. We've set up shop in Calgary, Canada.  Unfortunately, the gaming presence here is small, and much of the population holds the outdated mind set that gamers are the self-absorbed, pessimistic escapists, with a bag of chips and a beer on one side, and a scathing amateur review-in-progress on the other, seeking their next digital thrillride straight out of their parents basement.  THEREFORE, IT IS OUR RIGHTEOUS TASK TO FIX THAT IMAGE, AND BRING FORTH THE IMPORTANCE OF FUN AND PLAY IN EVERYDAY LIFE, NOT JUST THROUGH WORDS, BUT ACTION!I like the word "righteous", okay?... Because that's what gamers really are.  We've got lives of our own that we maintain.  Solving problems and puzzles in games has translated into real life, and given some of us the ability to think outside the box.  For others, playing cooperatively in online games has given them exceptional teamwork skills.  It's not about which games cause people to become violent, or sexually desensitised.  It is about which games activate our prefrontal cortex, make us move and think in new and different ways, and how the world is really a fun place to be.  With that said, we're running video game tournaments at Eau Claire Market every Saturday at 5:00PM MST (which will most likely change when Daylight Savings Time kicks in.  I'm not a big fan of it, so I like to say it's at @000.beats Internet Time, if you follow that)The games are,For the 3DS:Super Street Fighter IV: 3D EditionDead or Alive DimensionsBlazBlue: Continuum Shift IIFor the DS:Pokémon Black/White (two tournaments, for full-training and non-training types of players)We run with the standard tournament rules, Make sure to bring your own game and system, and no sharing of equipment during the tourney. There are cash-prize tournaments and free tourneys.  For the cash-prize tourneys:$5.00 admission$1.00 discount if you bring someone new (ie: someone who doesn't qualify for a discount)$1.00 discount if you participated in the previous week's tournament and didn't winso the minimum admission ends up being $3.00 currently.Provided we have enough people to hold a tournament, the prize is $25.00, plus half of the amount pushing the prize above that amount.  Basically, the more people the better. There are also a couple of surprises planned, some bigger events (literally and figuratively) but we're still in the middle of planning for those.Meanwhile stay tuned for more episodes, updates and fun stuff!  Find us online elsewhere at:Twitter:@DarkWeres@Q_MulativeYoutube:QMulativeJaymoniusDarkWeres
