Being born in Indiana, USA, Dave was miles away from his dreams and his future on the West Coast. As a child, Dave would entertain his family by singing along with the radio and dancing like the stars he'd seen at his uncle's club, the Cafe Wha in Greenwich Village, where Dave spent his summers. In his teens he and his family moved to Pasadena, California, home of the Van Halen brothers. It wasn't too long before their paths crossed and eventually one of the world's greatest rock bands would come together.After an amazing run with the Van Halen brothers, Dave decided to give a solo career a go! After several failed attempts to rejoin Van Halen, Dave actually got his wish and rejoin the super group as lead singer.
