This episode was originally recorded in March 2022 as part of a series where I spoke to people intimately involved in the NZ Parliament Protest Feb 8 - March 2, 2022.
Alistair is the owner of the Backbencher Pub in Wellington, which was on the outskirts of the Protest. The pub ended up operating as 'neutral' ground as Alistair used his contacts to attempt to mediate between the protestors, the politicians and the media.
This is Alistair's perspective on what the Protest was really like - compared to the mainstream media reports - and on the role he played.
