Things are beginning to happen in Wieland! In this section we're introduced to a mysterious new character who seems like they're going to play a pivotal role going forward. The eloquent, yet unassuming looking Carwin captures the attention and imagination of the group, but becomes a bit of an obsession for Clara. She also begins hearing voices, but these threaten harm and unsettle our narrator.
