The United States Supreme Court came down with a landmark decision in Bostock v. Clayton County that will have sweeping consequences for religious freedom, free speech, and the privacy and safety of women.

In a surprising 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court ruled that the 1964 Civil Rights Act’s inclusion of “sex” as a protected category was broad enough to encompass sexual orientation and transgenderism, an extension which Congress has repeatedly rejected.
