We had such a great time hosting Canton Jones (@thecantonjones) on this episode of the podcast. True to his word, after a past scheduling conflict, Canton came through as soon as he could and it was such a rich experience all around. For those who may not know, he’s a gospel musician and hip-hop artist, producer, and pastor in his third year of leadership at Free Life Church in Morrow, Georgia, 13 miles from downtown Atlanta. But we learned so much more, including all the ways Canton was led to his calling and what inspires him. His parents, his wife, and children play a major role. As a musician, Canton is focused on creating music that is spiritual yet real. Music for “after church” that can carry believers and nonbelievers alike through their week because it’s relatable. As a pastor, his messages focus on real life and he’s passionate about reaching people where they are with the Word. He also has a vision for a different type of church experience and is on a mission to create a larger space for hip-hop in worship. We were entertained, we were inspired, and we were blessed.
