When you go into a new album being as you come off, you know there's success. People know who you are, they know the name. You know what I'm saying. When you go to record a whole body of music, do you know how to get out of your way? And not to compare you to you? Are you going a little nervous? Like what you mean? Do you know how you already got like, man, okay, I got a catalog. I gotta you know, I put out good music already. Do you know how to like not say like the pressures of putting out another album? So okay, So what I just put out was a mixtape, okay, all because last year I did have a pressure of the album. So this is why I did a mixtape instead of an album, because it was so much pressure but the mixtape. It's not like the mixtape is like throwaway. You know, the mixtape could have been the album. It's just is there not a pressure in the title what it's called between the mixtape and the album, because you don't listen to it and say, oh man, she threw together mixtape. No, it's like okay, So it's like a different vibe like with an album. It's like certain features you have to have, you know what I'm saying to compliment your album, Like you know what I'm saying. And so with this, with with the project as you did, which was the mixtape, it was just like I got the songs. These songs are good songs. I'm not underestimating them, but they give me like hood like because I wanted to relate more to the to the hood, you know what I'm saying. Like when I do my album, I want to be able to like even though people globally like me, I want to be able to make like music that's on every radio station. But this song right here, like this tape, I made it like for the streets youve me like for the hood, for the hood, you know what I'm saying. People came to it and then also you get a whole, you know, a whole different sensation as far as like what people what people called onto, you know what I'm saying. Like even like even the teens, they were like, big, I don't know, you know, because I tried to jump into the TRK thing and they were like, Big, I don't know. You know, it's not a good look, you know, socially say again that's what he said. He said, it's not the play. And I was like, oh man, you know I was over five hundred pounds at one point, right so with being over five hundred pounds, and I know this may sound crazy, I got a lot of different things going on with skin and everything. You know what I'm saying, I do got some loose skin if I would have popped that in one of the viral videos, but you thought meg ain't got down And all I had to do was like just like a lot of respectfully. I asked my wife, I said, baby, what you trip if I jumped into you know, this TWURK thing and I went off and she was like, baby, do it. But then the team was like big, you know, so I slowed down. You know what I'm saying, it's never too late though, right, it's too late. Really, it's never too late, right. So there's a tour going on as well, yep, we said, right next month. Can I tell you a story that I've told on air many times and I don't think you've ever heard this, right, And I always say that characters was being said about you when you're not in a room. One night, we were at a concert and you didn't even see me looking at you, all right. I don't know who was on stage it was, man, I don't know. We were at the we were at the forum. It was at the farm out here, and I saw you, but you didn't see me, right, And it was like you were some of your homegirls. You're always having a good time. There was a VIP area and like a little stage riser, and you were at the stage riser. And then when you got off the riser, you just with the crowd. Dude, you just start dancing with everybody. Then there was some girls on top and you just started acknowledging them and dancing with everybody. And I was like, dude, you didn't know I was watching, But I was like, and y'all heard me say this. I was liked the way that she treated those people. Someone is listening right now and saying, oh that was me that night, like you made the night like you written and it wasn't about all get the camera with girl and let me let me have a moment. You know what I'm saying, that's really you. You enjoy being you. I do. I try, like, like with all the fans and supporters, I try to make them feel like they made me feel important. So I try to make them feel it's portant if they important, is they make me feel because that reason did, I'm where I'm met. So you know, I don't try to treat nobotter like they fans like. I try to treat them like they my cousin, you know, my friend. Oh my god. You know that's some black people think. And you know what, even the first time when you said cousin, I was like, black people like cousin, cousin. And then you told me that day you was like, nah, that's my cousin, my cousin. So going into the new album, man, oh, mixtape right, everything everything, everything, everything, everything, Yeah, yeah, yeah, I see, I see you. You're went heavy on the HS another age like girl, we got it. I got a gang agent was like, man, take them out of there. Yeah, we don't get them, they say, I use them too much anyway, really, man, but I love it. Man, I love mergic because I'm telling you, man, like, there's times and I've been in this is my thirty year anniversary. There's people that I've seen so many journeys on, right, And I enjoy watching your journey because you look like you enjoy your journey. I do. Yeah, you know, I haven't ran into the bad side of the industry yet, you know what I'm saying, So like, I'm still enjoying the good side because you know, people always have bad industry stories, right, And yeah, I'm just like, you know, living my life by social media. Do you know how to turn any of that off? Because everybody's not kind? Do you know how to turn social media off? And you know how to use it. I'm used to them, like they've been talking we can car on her, not really, but you can say it anyway. At some point when somebody said, can we curse? At some point they're gonna say something. Well, I'm used to people talking stuff about me because since the first day, since the first day I blew up, they was talking stuff about me, and so like I'm used to it now and so like now I just be like turning a lot of the negatives into positives. They behaving when you do this, like you talking stuff about me, and I don't care, Like I think it's funny really like sometimes when they be talking stuff, it'd be funny. And it's crazy, man, because the people that talk the most mess are the ones that's not doing a quarter or a fraction of the work. So and it's crazy how they can really zap your energy too, though, if you really look at it, and we've and we've seen it, and people think like, oh, it comes with the job, and you're like, nah, it really doesn't go you know what, It really doesn't come with the job, but you know how to turn it off. And and I really mess with it at all. Oh yep, But you know sometimes like it boosts me up, like when they say like stuff about my work, like it boosts me up. It make me go harder. I appreciate the on talking stuff, hey man. And you will get on stage like you know what I'm saying, Like you were one of the only artists, not the on the artists, but you did that hip hop fifty as well, right right when I was out here, like you would get on stage. Do you enjoy performing? Yeah, but I love performing, But on award shows, I'd be so shook, Like I'd be shaking in my boots every time I have to perform on an award show, because it's like you performed in front of so many celebrities that you look up to, like you know, and just a regular ring the crowd, like you know, you don't know who out there, so right, you can just perform, But an award show, you just got all these people who you fans of looking at you. So it's like the nervousness be like on one thousand, like I'd be nervous every award show. Who's like the one person that's been at an award show that you were like this one. I know they're in the audience right now, that one person. I remember. Oh, I did the Grammars in twenty twenty three, and well, Beyonce and jay z was there. But Beyonce he had just accepted the award, so she wasn't in the crowd at the time when I did the trip to the Hip Hop Tribute. But jay Z Wood, I'm like I'm like looking at them before I come out on stage, like from the side out of the stage, I'm damn he looking and so I'm like, but you know what's dope about that is that you cared enough. You know what I'm saying, that you did? You? And did you just meet Beyonce after I heard Radio Award? Yeah, I saw Huge. I met her at the grammar Is the first time. Then I saw Hu again. She so nice. She yea. She let me come in her dressing room. Did you take anything? No, I took a hug to you went. You went to the White House? Right? I went to the White House, but I left for stuff. For one. I went when Obama was there, and that was like the time. You know what I'm saying, it was it was beautiful. But they did like, did they have to run a background check on you? Well, your people probably handle that. My people couldn't handle mine. Yeah, so focus on your background. You know. It wasn't me. It was my cousin. My cousin. But as soon as they said that they have to do a background check, I was like, I'm not going to the White House. But I got in, y oh man, and they had like these little programs and everything. But but you got to think at some point, your music, your talent, your hard work got you recognized enough to even you know, to get to the White House. That's crazy because whatever it was, even when you said early on that you held many jobs, right when you hold a job, did you think like and not that it's you're aspiring to be there, you'll definitely take it. But you don't think like I'll be in the White House one day. I ain't never I ain't never think that. Even after I blew up, I didn't think the White House was worth I'll be like so fast, and what was it? What was the occasion? It was the it was damn it was the Women's History of month. And so you went in didn't take anything, you know, No, I just took in being there. Are you familiar with comedian George Lopez? George Lopez did a speech at the White House, and he took the speech and took the It was on the White House paper and all that Secret Service came to his crib because he took the speech. He took official he took what they call official White House papers. Oh yeah, so good thing. You didn't take anything, and I hate that I encourage you to do something. I don't want you asking me for pictures. I don't want you sneaking pictures of me or nothing like. I'm just trying to live my regular life, damn. And you know it's a trip, is like, And that's what I mean by when you say the gift and the curse. And it's not like you could turn it off and turn it on it like how you want. You can't disappear, you know. And somebody probably listen to that and say, oh, it comes with the gig, but you do give up a lot of freedom too, and you gotta always be on. Have you ever told of somebody to get the hell away from me. I don't try to be too mean to people, like if I'm trying to have to not be seen like I just if they say glow, I try my bus not to turn around and add like this my name, Like I try to add like it ain't my name. I ain't gonna turn around because you don't know what's me for real? Do you have anybody that now they that you that your name name is out there?
