This week subbing in for the great Matt Stopsky was NBA enthusiast, Bob Lapple, G's long time childhood friend.
The NBA MVP race is certainly heating up and it was a main topic of conversation this week on the podcast. Russell Westbrook and his ridiculous triple doubles and the averaging of one seems inevitable at this point. There's James Harden who, other than sporting the best beard in the league, has lead his Houston Rockets squad to the third best record in a LOADED Western Conference. The King, aka LeBron James, is always a solid choice, and can arguably be considered an MVP candidate year in and year out. Finally, the one player people seem to be sleeping on in this race, Kawhi Leonard of the San Antonio Spurs, he's the best perimeter defender in the league and has led the spurs to the second best record in that aforementioned stacked Western Conference.
