Recording from the first Psychedelic Awareness Salon held in Venice, CA January 2015. Our first speaker was Kathleen Wirt, a prominent member of the psychedelic community, who spoke about the Albert Hofmann Friday Night dinners she held at her home in Venice from 1997 to 2005. Reacting to Zero Tolerance and America’s Drug War, intellectuals “of like mind” met secretly at monthly potluck dinners with speakers who were experts on the issues at hand. Psychedelic elders passed wisdom to young ravers, alliances were formed, and guerrilla warfare was engaged. Speakers and attendees included Sasha and Ann Shulgin. Jack Herrer, Dr. Oscar Janiger, Myron Stolaroff, Art Kunkin, Gary Fisher, John Lilly, Laura Huxley, Allen Ginsberg. and many more.
