To be 100% honest, I had to let this one sink in. Just having lost my wonderful companion of 12 years and then having him tell me that he misses the "happy hour" didn't resonate , AT FIRST. Then sharing this broadcast with my daughter and sleeping on it did the trick. Benjamin's advice would be what a loving boy would be concerned with, the on-going emotional health of his human dad. And he did pick my brain because after he passed I mused to myself that if I did adopt another dog it would be a lot smaller and more transportable than my 135 lbs big boy bouvier.
