Scott’s anxious reactions is common among parents. I would presume that parents who don’t suffer from anxiety would experience similar thoughts as described by Scott; Will my daughter cope in a different environment without the usual supportive faces around her? How ? Will I cause her harm by allowing her to go? And many other questions. I liked Scott’s sentiment when he said that parents do project their own fears/guilt on their children which might hinder their children’s respective experiences and subsequently growth.
