Man Booker Prize-winning author John Banville joins us to discuss his new novel Mrs. Osmond. He continues the story of Isabel Archer, the heroine of Henry James’ "Portrait of a Lady." He tells the story of Isabel’s marriage to the cruel Gilbert Osmond and imagines that she decided to return to be with him in Italy, despite her chance to stay in England with Caspar Goodwood.

Jon Banville will appear for a joint reading with Claire Messud (with introductions by Colum McCann and Liesl Schillinger) at the 92nd Street Y (1395 Lexington Ave., at 92nd St.) at 8 p.m. on Nov. 16.
