Hello and welcome to Again Again MORE. The podcast where we share our favorite kids books and the tips to make the most of reading them again, again, and more. My name is Wrenna and today my toddler told me that when chickens sit down, their feet go away.

I’m really excited today guys because this is my first podcast. Ever. I wanted to ramble and tell you every single thought that comes to mind about language and kids and books and learning to podcast. But that’s the nerves. Instead I’m going to use this time to unpack the essence of Again Again More and get stuck in. Right now there are innumerable podcasts and blogs about all different facets of child development - and many many more exist than are actually about something you give two figs about. In the interest of saving us all some time, I’m going to sum up my mission straight away, hoping you will find this podcast both interesting and useful.

Again Again MORE is a podcast and blog combo here to help you facilitate your child’s language development. As parents we hear a continual stream of blather regarding all the many extras we should also be doing if we want our kids to achieve all the things. There will always be another way of diapering, feeding, teaching, cleaning, and raising. Of course you’ve probably heard about language development specifically by now. About how language development in the first 3 years predicts literacy and math success in school. You may have also heard about how many times a child hears the word “no” or about how teaching a baby sign language can reduce tantrums. What all of that boils down to is that children learn language from experiencing language and the more language you give them the more they will learn from it. Similarly, the better the  language you give them, the more they will learn from it. Reading is a fantastic way to increase both the quantity and quality of the language you offer for many reasons, which will be discussed throughout these episodes. At Again Again MORE I’m going to optimize your story time and turn the reading you’re already doing with your children into serious language development.

The music you heard in this episode was composed and preformed by Josh Armistead: https://josharmistead.bandcamp.com/
