Dawn M. Turner is a journalist and novelist.Previously, Turner was a columnist and reporter for the Chicago Tribune, where she wrote about race, politics, and people whose stories are often dismissed and ignored. She has covered national presidential conventions, as well as Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential election and inauguration.Turner's commentary has appeared in The Washington Post, PBS NewsHour, CBS Sunday Morning News show, NPR’s Morning Edition show, and the Chicago Tonight show.Turner is the author of two novels, "Only Twice I’ve Wished for Heaven," published in 1998, and "An Eighth of August," published in 2000, and the memoir "Three Girls from Bronzeville: A Uniquely American Memoir of Race, Fate, and Sisterhood," published in 2021.Turner received her B.S. in BS Journalism from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
