An eerie, beautiful, creepy and heartwarming story.
I recently relistened to this podcast and I don't think I'll ever get over "if there's even one person in the world who loves you then there's hope and safety and friendship and home. And if you don't have anyone like that I'll be that friend for you" and "all ghost stories are love stories"(those might not be exact quotes)The yearning and the romance of it will never leave me. And the ending is excellent and beautiful and so hopeful too
Fantastic and dreamy one season podcast.
A perfect pocket podcast. Listened to it in two days and came out of it with a general appreciation of old friends, hometowns and communities. The romance was sweet and lovely to watch unfold.
Ghost stories are love stories! Poignant and dreamlike, the narration evokes nostalgia, joy, sadness, and healing. Autumn vibes. The performance captures the emotional journey and depth of the character as the story unfolds. The uncertainty of aspects - for example, whether the producer killed the main character or is the manifestation of her fear - adds to the story's atmosphere.
This was a bittersweet and extremely well written story. A ghost story that's also a love story (or maybe the other way round), with both parts of it done very well
This is meant to be a love letter to what a small town used to look like (for a person of a certain race and class) and in that respect, it's very sweet and successful. The transition to a loss of innocence and the intrusion of changing norms and hidden prejudices is less well explored, and I would have liked more of that.
A really well made homage to old timey radio, with enthralling stories told by interesting characters. There are both one-off tales and running themes and arcs throughout the run of episodes. Definitely worth a listen.
