A bit of a slow start, but once the story picked up I was absolutely hooked - the twists and turns of the meta plot are absolutely fascinating.

absolutely love this show. stellar narration, incredibly provocative and descriptive writing, and all around masterfully crafted. i’m usually somewhat tentative about horror, but something about The Fort keeps drawing me back in. also, it’s canadian!!!!! i can’t recommend it enough— the perfect level of spine tingling, terror inducing, and wonderfully engaging and entertaining! definitely worth the listen, especially for any horror audio drama fans.

The Town Whispers is easily one of my favorite podcasts! The way the story builds upon itself, unearthing more and more interesting and intricate lore is utterly captivating and the entire show is brilliantly performed. It's a horrific, fascinating mystery that keeps pulling me back to the Fort time and time again

Interesting story and characters, but the pacing made me stop. The voice acting and soundscaping tried their best to build tension, but the dialogue and story threads often took so long to get through that any suspense was ruined. If you don't mind the slower, meandering pace, there is a wonderful and terrifying story awaiting you.

Absolutely awesome, insanely creepy, and dark audio drama. Slightly reminiscent of Old Gods of Appalachia, but after the first episode, completely tells its own unique story. Nothing else really like it out there right now

Brilliant podcast. It's got old gods of Appalachia vibes (or maybe it's the other way around, idk) but with a much more subdued narration style. Been binging it for the last 1.5 weeks at work so probably I guess I'm obsessed with it now

It's got a great creepy style. A narrated podcast that uses sound design effectively to tell tales of unknowable, primal horror afflicting The Fort. The stories weave together the many lives in the Fort, entwining the personal stories to something greater affecting the town. Do not look for much hope for the people of this town; the darkness that hangs over them is too great.

The Town Whispers goes from strength to strength, adding more complexity and depth to the machinations of the Long Shadows with every episode. I can't wait to hear more of the stories of the inhabitants of, and unwary visitors to, the Fort.

The Town Whispers is a wild and twisty ride. The setting and feel is truly unique and full of fascinating figures, spooky atmosphere, and startling moments of horror. Audio quality is excellent. Voice acting is very good and gets better and better over time. Episodes are well edited and feature good music and effects. If you're a fan of horror audio-drama podcasts this should definitely be in your library.
