Timur may have been lame but this podcasts is far from it. Telling the epic story of one of history’s greatest, but most forgotten conquerors. It’s probably not possible to say Timur was a nice man but during his early years you really feel for him, the struggles he had to overcome and battles he fought must have shaped the man he became. The host, James, is engaging and clearly have a passion for his the topic. He’s also very honest and open which I personally find a positive, I enjoy podcasts as much for the stories they tell as the people behind them – real people with a real interest – not overproduced content. I’m looking forward to more shows being released, names such as the Golden Horde speak to me from my time playing (badly) Europa Universalis 4 and I want to know more. Like many podcasts I listen to this one covers a more neglected topic, an area of the world which has lost it’s former importance in the eyes of many but has such a rich history to share.

Great "story", told in an entertaining way. The host is a good narrator, humble and very open about his own life, which is surprisingly pleasant: it's almost like you're listening to a friend. I guess this podcast is not for everyone, but it's certainly right for me.
