It's about ethics in ghost removal and it's very sweet. Even the scarier ghosts often turn out to be very human with very human stories
SMITTEN with the concept of this podcast. An employee at a ghost removal service starts to wonder if she's doing the right thing after all, forcefully removing ghosts from their location. Each of the ghost "stories" are really compelling and, honestly, occasionally ABSOLUTE tearjerkers (had to go stare at the wall for a hot minute after listening to the story about that ghost that lived with the nice WLW. you know the one). The protagonist and her interactions with the ghosts/other characters are also excellent - the writing dialogue flows really naturally, and really well-crafted. Really excited to see where it goes!
I loved Tell No Tales! It is an empathetic take on ghost hunting. I got invested in the main character, Leo, just as much as I became invested in the ghosts they are trying to give a voice to. It is fun, it is silly, but it is also very emotional. Some episodes hit hard. The plot (no spoilers): Leo has an invention they are tweaking they believe will help them talk to ghosts. The only problem? They work for a ghost removal company. But are ghosts just pests? How close to human are they? And do they consent to being removed?I highly recommend it.
One of my favourite new shows of the year! This show approaches the paranormal with such compassion and dignity, it makes my heart hurt a little. The episodes balance humour and heartbreak so well, but I always finish listening with a warm fuzzy feeling! The voice acting is fantastic, with each actor bringing something unique to the table and the team has a natural chemistry which makes it easy to forget that these aren’t real people!! One of the main themes of the show focuses on the ongoing effects of a traumatic experience for one of the characters. This is handled with so much respect and care that listening to the show almost feels like therapy in itself. I literally cannot wait for S2!!
I was immediately hooked by the premise of this show, and the execution did not disappoint. Each spirit's story is fascinating and often touching on its own, but also contributes to a solid ongoing plotline with several moving parts. I love how the scope and style of the narration evolves as Leo gets farther in their research - it's a great example of form following content in a way that feels very organic. I'm here for the ride, and I can't wait to see how the mysteries unfold.
