Some people just know the best rate for you

available in Alaska or California subject to terms and conditions, rates
0:19
are determined by several factors which vary by state. In some

Hello and welcome to Psychic Teachers. Deb
1:10
can't be with us today, but she'll be back next week.
1:14
Before we dive into today's
1:16
fascinating discussion on the similarities
1:18
between near-death experiences and UFO
1:20
encounters, I want to
1:23
let you know that I'm teaching my Manifesting
1:25
Miracles webinar on Wednesday, June 5th. When
1:28

1:55
tab to sign up. Okay,
1:57
so this month I've been reading a
1:59
book called The End. Omega Project, which
2:02
was written by Kenneth Ring. He was
2:04
a professor at the University of Connecticut
2:06
and a big-time researcher into the world
2:08
of near-death experiences. One
2:11
day he received a copy of
2:13
Whitley Streber's book, Communion, which recounts
2:15
his UFO abduction experience. Dr.
2:18
Ring was getting ready to toss it into
2:20
the garbage because, well, you know, as a
2:22
tenured professor and a respected psychology
2:24
researcher, he was not one to believe
2:26
in little green men. But
2:29
then he noticed a note attached to the
2:31
book. It was written by his own editor
2:33
who worked for the William Morrow agency. The
2:36
note implored Dr. Ring to read the book, stating
2:39
that it was very relevant to his work.
2:42
Dr. Ring wondered, what the heck
2:44
do aliens and UFO abductions have to
2:46
do with near-death research? But
2:48
he trusted his editor, so he sat down
2:50
and devoured the book. It
2:52
led him on a several years-long research
2:55
quest, where he started to make
2:57
connections between not only the
2:59
experiencers of UFOs and NDEs,
3:02
but also the resulting changes in their
3:04
lives after the paranormal experience
3:06
had occurred. Let's
3:09
start by looking at the similarities
3:11
between these experiences. With an
3:13
NDE, people leave their body and
3:15
go to another place, perhaps another
3:17
dimension, where they encounter spiritual beings
3:19
or loved ones who've gone before
3:21
them. Typically, they return
3:23
with a message about loving others and
3:26
a clearly defined personal purpose. With
3:29
an alien encounter, abductees recount being
3:32
pulled out of their homes, cars, or
3:34
camping site and taken into a ship which
3:36
is similar to a different dimension. Here,
3:39
they don't encounter spiritual beings, but
3:41
rather otherworldly beings who also
3:43
give them a message for humanity, which
3:46
is usually about taking care of the
3:48
Earth or preventing nuclear
3:50
war. After the
3:52
encounter, abductees tend to also feel as
3:55
though they have a mission or a
3:57
purpose. Something I found
3:59
really interesting in doing this research is
4:01
how similar both these events are to
4:03
the hero's journey. Deboni
4:05
did several shows about five years ago
4:08
on Joseph Campbell's description of the hero's
4:10
journey where he studied myths
4:12
and likens the arc in these tales
4:15
to our own lives where we feel
4:17
called to do and be something more.
4:20
The hero's journey is broken down into
4:22
several stages. There's a call
4:24
to leave the ordinary world which
4:26
can be refused or answered with
4:29
a near-death experience. You often don't
4:31
have a choice about the near-death
4:33
part but most experiencers report having
4:35
a choice about returning to this
4:37
life. With abductees there doesn't
4:39
seem to be any choice. Nevertheless,
4:42
both experiencers are pulled out
4:44
of the ordinary world. Another
4:46
stage of the hero's journey is meeting the
4:48
mentors. Again, think about the
4:51
NDE people who talk about seeing Jesus or
4:53
Buddha or an angel. Some
4:56
abductees recount horrifying tales of
4:58
being examined by cold, unfeeling, gray
5:00
beings but just as many
5:02
report encountering loving beings who are watching over
5:04
the earth. One of
5:07
the most important steps of the hero's journey is
5:09
finding the treasure and returning
5:11
home to share the treasure with your people.
5:14
For a near-death experiencer, the treasure they
5:16
find is that death is an illusion
5:19
and only love is real and is what matters
5:21
in this life and the next. For
5:24
abductees, the treasure is a little harder
5:27
to define but many report a better
5:29
understanding of the interconnectedness of nature and
5:31
how important it is to take care
5:33
of the planet. Dr.
5:35
Ring also talks about similarities between
5:38
people who report experiences with UFOs
5:41
and individuals who claim they've had an
5:43
NDE. He discovers that people
5:45
who have these mystical occurrences tend to have
5:47
what he calls encounter-prone
5:50
personalities. One
5:52
of the questions that fascinated Ring
5:55
throughout his research is that only one
5:57
in three people who survive a near-death
5:59
experience report having an
6:01
NDE, which made him
6:03
wonder why? Why only one in
6:06
three? Well, his findings show
6:08
that these individuals and
6:10
people who have experiences with UFOs have
6:14
encounter-prone personalities, which certainly starts
6:16
to shed light on why
6:18
only one in three people
6:20
who have been near-death will
6:22
actually have a near- death experience where
6:24
they go to the other side. He
6:27
looked at the research done by UFO researcher
6:29
Leo Sprinkle and his colleague June Parnell,
6:32
who found that on the
6:34
whole, UFO experiences were mentally
6:36
healthy, who tended to lean
6:38
toward a moral self-righteousness. Both
6:41
NDE and UFO experiences
6:45
reported similar physical and emotional
6:47
changes, which we'll discuss more
6:49
a little bit later. What
6:51
I found especially interesting is
6:53
that both NDE and UFO
6:56
experiences exhibited evidence that
6:58
their Kundalini had been activated.
7:01
The Kundalini is said to be a
7:03
form of bioenergy that lies tucked or
7:05
coiled like a snake inside of our
7:08
root chakra at the base of the spine.
7:11
Symptoms of a Kundalini awakening
7:13
include changes in breathing patterns,
7:15
feeling energy currents throughout the
7:17
body, headaches, and feelings of
7:19
ecstasy and cosmic awareness. Now
7:22
the goal of any spiritual person, especially
7:24
a yogi, is to awaken the Kundalini,
7:26
but you want to do so pretty
7:28
slowly. You don't want that snake to
7:30
awaken and just boom, you're
7:33
suddenly aware of other dimensions.
7:36
With NDE and UFO
7:38
experiences, it seems as though they
7:40
do have that sudden experience of the Kundalini
7:43
awakening. And
7:45
when Dr. Ringdove headfirst into
7:47
the childhood experiences of both
7:49
NDE-ers and UFO experiences, the
7:53
similarities were astonishing.
7:56
For starters, both tended to exhibit
7:58
what he calls fantasy
8:00
croneness, meaning that they
8:03
both had a quote, tendency
8:05
to enter into a state
8:07
of wrapped absorption focused on
8:09
a world of self-created fantasy.
8:12
Participants in his research, whether they'd
8:14
experienced an NDE or a UFO,
8:17
said they were prone to daydream
8:19
as kids, had interest in science
8:21
fiction or ghost, and enjoyed a
8:24
rich fantasy life as children. Both
8:27
groups also reported having experienced
8:30
child abuse or trauma. He
8:32
also found that both groups were more
8:35
likely than the average person to report
8:37
being seriously ill at at least one
8:39
point in their childhood.
8:42
Dr. Ring said he believes that having to
8:45
deal with childhood stress or trauma stimulates
8:47
the development of a disassociated
8:49
response style as a means
8:51
of psychological defense, explaining
8:54
that a child exposed to these kinds
8:56
of stressors will have a strong motivation
8:58
to tune out those physical
9:00
or emotional threats. So
9:03
he says that when you have
9:05
a child living in a stressed
9:07
environment who learns to tune it
9:09
out by mentally leaving their mind
9:11
to enter into an alternate or
9:13
fantastical reality, this creates the perfect
9:15
environment for not only psychic and
9:17
paranormal experiences, but also for UFO
9:19
and NDE ones too. He
9:22
writes, what I am suggesting
9:24
is that these individuals are
9:27
what we might call psychological
9:29
sensitives with low stress thresholds,
9:31
and that it is their traumatic childhoods
9:33
that have helped to make them so.
9:37
The UFO-ers and NDE-ers are
9:39
actually the unwitting beneficiaries of
9:41
a kind of compensatory gift
9:44
in return for the wounds they incurred
9:46
growing up, which has allowed
9:49
them to develop an extended range
9:51
of human perception beyond
9:53
normally recognized limits.
9:57
That's fascinating to me. I'm sure you guys
9:59
have. Heard me mention on
10:01
the show so many times.
10:03
I don't find it a
10:05
coincidence that so many mediums
10:07
and psychics have reported having
10:09
at least one difficult parents
10:11
who was emotionally or physically
10:13
abusive or abandoning or just
10:15
plain mean and I've always
10:17
speculated that that me to
10:20
tune in that negative. Parents
10:22
ever changing moods is what triggers
10:24
and strengthens and develop psychic abilities
10:26
and I just love it when
10:28
I can find research to. Back
10:31
that up. So. Basically, Doctor
10:33
Ring is saying that overall all
10:35
of these things. Either.
10:37
Having a serious illness as a kid
10:39
or. Having some stress and
10:42
severe stress and trauma and
10:44
your childhood. Or just
10:46
feeding prone to see to see
10:48
an imaginary friends and watching Scooby
10:50
Doo and unsolved mysteries. All of
10:53
those things combined helped. To
10:55
create what he calls in
10:57
encounter prone personality. Something.
11:00
Else he found is that a large
11:02
number of people claiming to have encountered
11:04
a Us though were naturally psychic. You.
11:07
Have a researcher. Jedi Randall
11:09
also discovered that many Us
11:11
all people had a plethora
11:13
of paranormal experiences throughout their
11:15
lives. Doctor Rings own
11:17
research has. Shown that after and
11:19
envy people tend to be more
11:22
psychic. And ears and
11:24
Us hours, he says are
11:26
also especially susceptible to altered
11:29
states. Of consciousness. Many said
11:31
things like. I feel as
11:33
though I've always been able to hypnotize
11:36
myself. Or sometimes I have blink spells
11:38
when I do things without being aware
11:40
of what I've done. And
11:42
I can zone out easily like when. listening
11:45
to music or being lost in
11:47
thought. In fact,
11:49
in both groups, A large majority
11:51
reported having psychic experiences as
11:53
children. he also said
11:56
that both groups as children were
11:58
sensitive to non ordinary realities.
12:01
Don't you love the way psychologists and
12:04
scientists word all these fancy things,
12:06
non ordinary realities. Basically he's saying
12:08
as kids they were able to
12:10
see ghosts and maybe have imaginary
12:13
friends. He also talks
12:15
about the psychophysical effects both
12:17
ND ears and UFOs encounter
12:20
as a result of their experiences. A
12:23
psychophysical change he says refers to
12:26
an altercation that involves both mind
12:28
and body. Some of
12:30
these changes include an increased
12:32
sensitivity to light, sound, humidity
12:34
and alcohol. Others might
12:37
report changes in their overall
12:39
body temperature or blood pressure. Many
12:41
reported having an expanded mind,
12:44
such as an awareness of altered states
12:46
of reality, while others
12:48
report an increase in
12:50
paranormal functioning, like telepathy,
12:52
precognition and telekinesis. He
12:55
also found that both groups of
12:58
experiences reported feeling energy on a
13:00
much deeper level, meaning they
13:02
could feel shifts in the emotional energy
13:04
of themselves and people
13:06
around them. Dr.
13:09
Ring writes extraordinary encounters appear
13:12
to be the gateway
13:14
to a radical biologically
13:16
based transformation of the
13:18
human personality. I
13:20
mean, that's huge, right? When you think about
13:23
it, and what would cause that?
13:25
What would cause these changes in
13:27
not only your emotional and spiritual
13:29
state of being, but also your
13:32
physical state of being? Is it
13:34
leaving the earth? Is it leaving
13:36
this gravity dense based earth? I
13:39
don't know. He found
13:41
that after these experiences, both groups,
13:43
whether we're talking about near death
13:46
experiences or UFO abductees, were
13:48
more altruistic, had a
13:51
greater concern for humanity, and
13:53
a big increase in spirituality, with
13:56
most reporting that they were less
13:58
religious after their encounter. but
14:00
much more spiritual. They
14:03
both had a decreased interest in materialism
14:05
and a greater self-acceptance
14:08
for themselves and overall improvement in
14:10
love for others. So
14:13
that's pretty amazing to think about,
14:15
isn't it? These people came back
14:18
from these life-altering,
14:20
life-changing experiences and
14:22
for the most part reported
14:25
some remarkable improvements in
14:27
their lives and in how they saw themselves in
14:29
the world around them. Let's
14:32
take a quick break and when
14:34
we come back we'll look at
14:36
how these experiences change people's spirituality
14:38
and why he calls them
14:41
modern-day shamans. Let
14:45
me just remind you that it's

not too late to join my

15:51
Welcome back. Let's dive into Dr.
15:53
Ring's research which shows an increase
15:56
in what he calls
15:58
religious universalism. with
16:00
UFOers talking a lot about
16:02
expanded consciousness and NDEers
16:04
talking about love for one
16:07
another. He quotes
16:09
UFO experiencers as saying things like,
16:12
I believe the changes I've undergone
16:14
since my UFO experience are part
16:16
of an evolutionary unfolding of
16:19
humanity. And another
16:21
one said, evolutionary forces are
16:23
at work to transform humanity
16:25
at large into a more
16:28
self-aware, spiritually sensitive
16:30
species. Dr.
16:33
Ring says all groups imply that
16:36
we are in the midst
16:38
of an evolutionary spurt toward
16:40
greater spiritual awareness and higher
16:42
consciousness, and that the
16:44
occurrence of UFO and NDE experiences
16:46
is an integral part
16:48
of this progression. His
16:51
findings also showed that there are
16:53
higher forces orchestrating these
16:55
experiences and that they
16:58
are meant to awaken individuals to the
17:00
existence of a cosmic plan for life
17:02
on Earth. Wow. Now,
17:05
there are some minor differences here. He writes,
17:08
those who have had or become
17:11
interested in NDEs are
17:13
inclined to see a spiritual meaning
17:15
to near-death experiences, specifically
17:17
to spread God's love. Our
17:20
UFO sample, on the other hand,
17:22
is much less likely to endorse
17:24
this opinion because their focus is
17:26
more on consciousness and taking care
17:29
of the planet, whereas near-death experience
17:31
people tend to focus more on
17:33
God, higher power, and love. Ring
17:37
then talks about another interesting similarity
17:39
between both types of experiencers, and
17:43
that is the electrical
17:45
sensitivity syndrome, where
17:47
electrical stuff like watches, car
17:49
batteries, lights, and computers
17:51
will break when these sensitive people
17:54
are around them. One
17:56
woman reported that she broke her expensive
17:59
stereo system by touching it. Another
18:01
said computers and vacuums just don't work
18:04
around him. Many report
18:06
light bulbs blowing up or street lamps
18:08
blinking out as they walk past. So
18:11
this is occurring with both people who have had
18:13
encounters with UFOs and
18:16
people who have had near-death experiences.
18:19
As Dr. Ring looks into this, he
18:21
again finds some interesting things. First
18:24
of all, about 80% of experiencers
18:26
reporting this electrical sensitivity are
18:28
women. They also tend to
18:31
have more allergies than the average person. Studies
18:33
also show they tend to be
18:36
more emotional, have an increased
18:38
sensitivity to sound, experience
18:40
mood fluctuations, and many
18:42
claim to have psychic and healing abilities.
18:45
While researching these commonalities, Dr. Ring
18:47
couldn't help but associate it with
18:50
the weird electrical stuff that happens
18:52
when people report seeing a UFO,
18:55
such as car engines shutting off
18:57
on their own, radio dials spinning
18:59
or turning off only to start
19:01
up again once the UFO leaves.
19:04
This made him wonder if
19:06
ND ears and UFOs experience
19:09
some kind of electromagnetic change in
19:11
their bodies. And
19:13
I mean, could that also lend
19:15
some reason as to why they
19:17
have these physical changes in their
19:20
bodies too and heightened psychic abilities?
19:23
He quotes a research done by Edgar Wilson who
19:25
said, humans seem
19:27
to possess an extremely complex
19:29
biomagnetic energy field that operates
19:32
outside of the confines of
19:34
the nervous system alone. He
19:38
also cites the work of another doctor
19:40
named Robert Becker who said, living
19:42
things may now be viewed
19:45
as basically electromagnetic in nature,
19:47
possessing an internal organized
19:50
analog type DC electrical
19:52
system that regulates the
19:54
basic functions of growth and
19:56
healing, provides the basic
19:58
operational level for brain ache, and
20:01
produces magnetic fields of a
20:03
specific nature that are detectable
20:05
outside of the body. All
20:08
living things are intimately tied to
20:10
the natural geomagnetic fields of the
20:12
Earth. Dr. Ring
20:14
believes that this intimate relationship
20:17
between the Earth's geomagnetic field
20:19
and living organisms stimulated
20:22
a re-evaluation of
20:24
the relationship between electromagnetic fields
20:27
and psychic phenomenon and
20:29
showed a firm link between them. Now
20:32
something else I found interesting is
20:34
that he compares the NDE and
20:37
UFO experiencer to a modern
20:39
day shaman. He
20:41
quotes Carol Zaleski as saying
20:43
abductions may represent a particularly
20:46
contemporary form of the shamanic
20:48
journey. Perhaps the
20:50
other world journey motif is camouflaged
20:52
in the modern lore of space
20:54
travel which like the fantastic
20:56
voyage legends of the past exemplifies
20:59
what might be called the lure of
21:01
the edge. And
21:03
then Ring writes this passage I really wanted
21:05
to share with you. He
21:08
says these persons our
21:11
extraordinary experiencers are I
21:13
believe the true visionaries
21:15
of our time, the bearers of
21:17
the emerging myth of the 21st
21:20
century calling us to a cosmic
21:22
centered view of our place in
21:24
creation. A myth
21:27
that has the power to
21:29
ignite the fires of a
21:31
worldwide planetary regeneration and
21:34
thus save us from the icy
21:36
blast of a nuclear winter. Did
21:40
you get all that? I mean
21:42
that's that's heavy stuff we're talking about. I
21:45
never really looked at an NDE or a
21:48
UFO experience that way have you? I mean
21:50
I never thought to consider
21:53
that these experiencers are cosmic
21:55
travelers helping us herald in
21:57
an expanded collective consciousness. It's
22:00
really a beautiful thing to ponder, though. For
22:04
the end of the book, Dr. Ring sums up
22:06
his thesis by saying where
22:08
he believes were headed as a
22:10
global society. He says
22:12
that in the future, the world of
22:14
the dead and the world of the living are
22:17
ones between which there may
22:19
eventually no longer be a
22:21
sharp distinction. Veils
22:24
will be lifted from the face of the
22:26
nonphysical, and we ourselves
22:28
will become diaphanous beings with bodies
22:30
of light. I
22:34
just want everyone to think about that a minute. So
22:36
what he's saying is that
22:39
beyond these UFO experiencers and
22:41
these NDE experiencers having all
22:43
these things in common, similar
22:45
childhood experiences, an interest
22:48
in fantasy and paranormal
22:50
stuff, and having
22:52
the sensitivity to light and electricity,
22:54
in addition to all those similarities,
22:57
he's saying they share another similarity,
22:59
and that is they are cosmic
23:01
travelers just like Campbell's hero's
23:03
journey. They are chosen
23:05
to be sent to
23:08
this other place and returned to us
23:10
with these gifts, this treasure, that
23:12
is designed to help us as
23:14
a whole expand, raise, awaken our
23:16
consciousness to a new level of
23:18
being. I mean,
23:20
that's big. He
23:23
goes on to say that the increasing
23:25
fascination with and immersion in the domain
23:28
of extraordinary encounters may
23:30
well lead to the shamanizing of
23:32
modern humanity. He
23:34
says that we began through physical
23:36
evolution to cultural evolution,
23:39
but now we're moving
23:41
into an age of
23:43
emotional evolution. Dr.
23:45
Ring writes, as cultural evolution has shaped
23:48
our planet's destiny for the past 10,000
23:50
years. There
23:52
has also been evidence of a third
23:54
form of evolution, the evolution
23:57
of consciousness itself. could
24:00
be in the beginning stages of a
24:02
major shift in levels of consciousness that
24:05
will eventually lead to humanity's being able
24:07
to live in two worlds at
24:09
once. This is
24:11
precisely what shamans do in traditional cultures
24:14
and it may be what humanity as
24:16
a whole is currently learning to do
24:18
as a result of
24:21
its increasing familiarization with
24:23
extraordinary encounters. Let's
24:26
just stop and think about that
24:28
a moment. Could it be that
24:30
our continued interest and dare I
24:32
say grudging acceptance by society at
24:34
large of paranormal things like
24:36
ghosts and psychics the afterworld and
24:38
off-planet beings are helping us
24:40
to grow as a species? I mean
24:44
guys if that's true this means
24:46
that simply by listening to this podcast
24:48
you're doing your part to help humanity's
24:51
heart and consciousness grow and evolve. Okay
24:55
all joking aside it is
24:57
an astounding thing to contemplate. Perhaps
24:59
all this strangeness going on in places
25:02
like Skinwalker Ranch, Roswell, Rendlesham
25:04
Forest, the Marion Apparitions,
25:06
UFO Abduction, sightings of
25:08
Bigfoot, Nessie or Dogman
25:11
are actually occurring to help us
25:13
expand our viewpoint open our eyes
25:15
to something more something deeper and
25:17
higher and more loving than anything
25:19
we've known. Oh that's
25:22
a lot to think about. Let's take
25:24
another very quick break and we will
25:27
be right back to talk about what
25:29
Dr. Ring discovered about the power of
25:32
our imagination. Some
25:38
people just know the best way for you
25:40
is a rate based on you. It's also
25:42
not one based on the driver who treats the
25:44
highway like a racetrack and the shoulder
25:46
like a passing lane. Why
25:48
pay a rate based on anyone else? Get one
25:50
based on you. This drive-wise from
25:52
Austin. user
26:00
driving data for purposes of rating. While in some states your
26:02
rate could increase with high risk driving, generally safer drivers will
26:04
stay with drive-wise. All state-bearing casualty insurance coming in in Philly,
26:06
North Illinois. Okay, welcome back. So
26:12
at the end of the book, Dr. Ring
26:14
talks about one of my favorite topics, the
26:16
imaginal realm. So stay with me
26:18
here because it's a lot to unpack. He
26:21
says the alchemist of old
26:23
called it imagination vera, meaning
26:25
true imagination, which is
26:28
a super sensible reality that
26:30
can be directly reached through
26:32
things like Kundalini rising, shamanic
26:34
journeying, and maybe he
26:36
speculates just maybe through
26:38
NDE and UFO experiences.
26:42
He says that we are moving into
26:44
this new level of expanded consciousness propelled
26:47
by extraordinary experiences such as
26:49
an NDE or UFO encounter.
26:52
Dr. Ring writes that this will be the
26:54
result of an expanded ability on the part
26:56
of human beings for imaginal vision. Humanity
27:00
will be led back to its true home
27:02
in the realm of the imagination where
27:04
it would be liberated to live in the
27:06
mythic time and no
27:08
longer incarcerated in the doomed
27:10
prison of historical time. He
27:14
mentions the work of Terrence McKenna who's
27:17
written a lot about psychedelic shamanism and
27:20
he believes that our dream life is
27:22
really a parallel reality
27:24
that could be more real in many
27:26
ways than our conscious daily world. And
27:30
if any of you read my book on
27:32
soul traveling through dreams, the awake dreamer,
27:34
that's exactly what I believe too. Dr.
27:38
Ring writes that we are coming more
27:40
and more to exist in a world
27:42
made by the human imagination. That
27:47
sentence really stood out to me. Let
27:49
me repeat it. We are coming
27:51
more and more to exist in
27:53
a world made by the human
27:55
imagination. This is something I have
27:57
long believed and to see scientists
28:00
and psychologists and researchers back
28:02
this up is really validating.
28:05
What you think, what you imagine,
28:07
what happens in your interior world
28:10
will be mirrored in your daily
28:12
world. I want you to really
28:14
ponder that and start to observe the truth of that
28:16
statement in your own life. For
28:18
example, if you complain nonstop about your
28:21
job, you're going to keep paving your
28:23
job. And
28:25
you're going to attract all
28:27
sorts of negative experiences and
28:30
encounters to validate your belief that
28:32
your job sucks. But if
28:34
you shift your interior world to
28:36
a different imaginal view, such
28:39
as loving your job or accepting a
28:41
new happier job, suddenly your
28:43
experiences will shift to reflect
28:46
this. Start to see
28:48
this in your world too. It's
28:50
almost magical. And it's
28:52
why I can't wait to teach
28:54
my manifesting webinar because that's what
28:57
it's all about, is shifting your
28:59
interior world and your interior thoughts
29:01
to help you manifest that
29:03
positive imaginal world in the
29:05
reality. I have
29:09
a friend who constantly says, I never get sick.
29:12
She really does. She says it all the time. Well, I never
29:14
get sick. And you know what? She doesn't. But
29:16
a few weeks ago, she started sniffling a little
29:18
and I said, Oh, no, are you getting that
29:20
cold that everyone's getting? And she
29:22
said, Nope, I never get sick. This will
29:25
be gone by tonight. And it
29:27
was, I saw her at the gym
29:29
the next day and she was fit, fine, ready
29:31
to go perfectly healthy. It's
29:34
amazing how much our interior thoughts
29:37
are mirrored in our lived
29:40
reality. It's a powerful,
29:42
powerful concept. Okay,
29:45
back to Dr. Ring's work. In
29:47
addition to mentioning Terence McKenna's work,
29:49
he also looks at Michael Grasso's
29:51
research into the collective or universal
29:54
consciousness, which he calls the
29:56
mind at large. Grasso writes
29:59
my contention. is that these
30:01
different forms of contact are related
30:04
and that in all likelihood a
30:06
single source of intelligence is using
30:08
whatever openings it can find to
30:11
penetrate our collective mind and
30:14
modify our basic ideas of
30:16
how reality works. So
30:20
again to put that in normal language
30:22
he's saying that he believes encounters with
30:24
off-planet beings are occurring simply
30:27
to elevate and open the
30:30
collective mind, the mind at large,
30:32
the universal consciousness to
30:34
a different idea, a different way
30:36
of looking at how reality works. Dr.
30:41
Ring also mentions famous UFO
30:43
researcher Jacques Vallee. If
30:45
you guys are interested in this stuff and
30:47
you haven't read Jacques Vallee I
30:49
highly encourage it. I
30:51
read his book Passport to Magonia. It's
30:54
a great read. So he
30:56
quotes Jacques Vallee as saying he
30:58
believes that UFOs are part of
31:00
a control system helping to regulate
31:03
belief systems, cultures and even human
31:05
evolution. He mentions
31:07
Karl Rashky who says these experiences
31:09
are visited upon humanity to lose
31:11
it from the fetters of its
31:14
encrusted habits of thought and action,
31:17
freedom from which is absolutely essential.
31:19
If the next state of humanity
31:21
and the reclamation of the planet are to
31:23
occur. And check
31:25
this out. Rashky believes aliens
31:28
are visiting us as agents
31:30
of cultural deconstruction, not
31:32
destruction, deconstruction. He
31:35
says our interest in them
31:37
should center on how the
31:39
spreading and deepening convictions about
31:41
them subtly yet irreversibly remold
31:44
not just peripheral religious or
31:46
metaphysical ideas but entire constellations
31:48
of cultural and social
31:50
knowledge. In this connection UFOs
31:52
can be depicted as ultra
31:55
terrestrial agents of cultural
31:57
deconstruction. Ring
32:01
concludes his research by saying that
32:03
we will most likely never know
32:05
why some people have NDEs and
32:07
encounters with UFOs. He
32:09
says, but we are meant to be baffled. Only
32:12
by confronting and yielding to the
32:14
unknowable, by rigorously avoiding
32:16
both the temptation to deny or
32:19
explain away these phenomenon or to
32:21
try to find some conventional explanation
32:23
for them, can we evolve
32:26
into consciousness where the dream of Earth
32:28
becomes a reality. The
32:31
fate of the Earth and our future evolution
32:33
as a species depend on
32:35
our unflinching and dedicated determination
32:38
to open ourselves up to
32:40
their healing energies. Wow,
32:43
guys, I gotta tell you, this book
32:45
and the research that he led me
32:47
to really opened my eyes to some
32:50
new ways of thinking about these encounters.
32:53
I really enjoy doing the research for this show
32:55
and contemplating a whole new
32:57
way to look at NDE and
32:59
UFO encounters. For starters, I
33:01
hadn't considered the many similarities between
33:03
the two experiences, but
33:06
I never thought about these
33:08
encounters as being orchestrated
33:10
by extraterrestrials or higher
33:12
spiritual beings or the universal
33:14
mind as a way to elevate
33:16
humanity's consciousness to the next level.
33:20
All I can say is that when I read the news and
33:23
I see all the greed and chaos and violence
33:25
going on, sometimes I think,
33:27
damn, we are slow learners on
33:29
this spiritual journey in this Earth
33:31
school. But then
33:34
I read books like this one, The Omega Project,
33:36
and I remember that, sure, it's
33:38
a slow progress, but it's still
33:41
progression forward to a better world,
33:43
a kinder, more compassionate universe. Last
33:47
week a friend asked me, what be the light means?
33:50
She said, why do you end every show with that? What does it
33:52
even mean? And I said,
33:54
well, for me, to be the light means to do
33:56
whatever you can to light up your corner of the
33:58
world. To be your light. a ray
34:00
of light in someone's day, or
34:03
a beacon of hope for a friend, but
34:05
especially for yourself, too. And
34:08
that's how we're going to help elevate the consciousness
34:10
of this world to a higher vibration. This
34:13
week, perform a random act of kindness,
34:15
leave a crystal for someone to find,
34:17
give your delivery driver a bottle of
34:19
water or a gift card to a
34:21
local coffee shop, call a friend
34:23
just to tell them you love them. We
34:26
do these things to be the light, to
34:29
help raise our vibrations. Plus,
34:32
I'd prefer to be the light from the
34:34
safe confines of my cozy beach town, rather
34:36
than from a near-death experience or an
34:39
encounter with a little gray alien holding a
34:41
probe. Just saying. So
34:44
I'll wrap up for this show
34:46
by saying, be the light for
34:48
yourself and others, and
34:51
to avoid being abducted by aliens. Hope
34:54
you enjoyed this episode. See you next time. Thanks
