Romantic, sweet, funny, and made for fans of all stripes. A nice, satisfying story.
fairly new to podcasts and have only listened to TMA and Night Vale,,,,at first I was skeptical bc I didn't know what to expect bUT OH BOY!! every second of this podcast made me feel so goddamn giddy! The fluff, their banters, the voice acting, GODS!! I LOVE IT!! this will be on my "LISTEN AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN" list because I will never get enough!! of!! HarriDrew!! 10 episodes almost felt too short,,,scratch that, it's too short indeed 😔 if you're having a bad day, or in need of immediate giggles and serotonin, I recommend this podcast! their topics are very engaging and humourous, I can't count how many times i've bursted out laughing at their conversations lol. please listen to this! it's definitely worth your time ❤️
I enjoyed it a lot for the most part. Drew and Harrison had a lot of chemistry and I couldn't help but root for them from the very first episode. Something I immediately noticed, however, is that the writing is very of its time. As someone in their late teens listening to this in 2023, I couldn't help but find a lot of the jokes made dated. It honestly took out a good portion of the immersion. Instead of listening to the dialogue, I was wrinkling my nose at all the fandom references. I was also unsatisfied with the execution and conclusion of the conflict between Drew and Harrison (mainly stemming from the fact that I don't think Harrison was in any way justified in reacting the way he did + I don't think Drew did anything particularly bad). The reason behind the fight felt weak.Despite my gripes with the show, I did enjoy it for the most part. The podcast promises a cheesy queer romcom and that's exactly what you get.
I've listened to Kaleidotrope at least ten times. It's a feel-good story for me. The audio quality is inconsistent; it's best to know that going on. But ultimately, for me, it didn't matter. The acting is SO superb - the two main characters are just spot on perfect together. If you love love, or even if you think you don't because romantic tropes are stupid, this is the show for you.
Absolutely sweet fluff to make you feel warm and soft
This is such a sweet show, and the whole season feels very complete, you get a full story and you'll be rooting for these darn kids the whole time. The main characters, especially Harrison, feel so familiar and like people you know, like home. Kaleidotrope is endearing without being sickly sweet, and it's just a delightful story. Binged this in one day during a COVID quarantine when I needed some positivity, and it was the perfect choice!
This show stole my heart, held it for a coffee-date ransom and then returned it safely. 10/10
Sickeningly sweet comfort podcast with a happy ending - exactly what it says on the tin, in the best way.
A cheesy queer romcom that makes use of popular ridiculous fanfiction tropes. The two main characters have fun banter. The romance is sweet, and the confession scene is cute. Quite a few pop culture and fandom references, some of which I enjoyed (ex. the tangents on RENT and Moffat's queerbaiting; it's 2016-2017esque in many takes). Some of the references were awkward to hear spoken aloud (I have no further desire to hear anyone say the words 'OTP' or 'Omegaverse' - that last one thankfully mentioned only once), but it was charming despite the occasional times I cringed. And despite episode 3 including a Take about how even if a relationship starts with blackmail, it doesn't necessarily have to stay abusive if you talk things out. The sound design isn't that great, which is incredibly noticeable when more actors are speaking, but it's listenable when only the two main characters are talking.
If you write fanfiction and/or enjoy romantic tropes this podcast is for you. It's a light-hearted AD about love and expectations. While the audio quality is not the best I still recommend it to people who are looking for a chill romance AD.
This new exactly what it was and I appreciated the hell out of it!This was cute and adorable and hilarious! The chemistry was just off the charts. I want more. What do I have to do?
