Absolutely adore Julie's enthusiasm for all things nuclear and cold war. It's also good to hear from another rabid fan of the film Threads! She has a lovely accent that's soothing to listen to.

Original, detailed and beautifully narrated podcast on the many aspects of nuclear war. If you grew up in fear of The Bomb, this is powerful stuff to share. Julie McDowall's obsession with the British nuclear war drama 'Threads' is understandable. The indelible memory of watching it as a teenager got me here, and I think it is still an utterly relevant masterpiece - after all, the missiles have never disappeared. But it is Julie's meticulous, wide-ranging research and her calm, personal and spellbinding narration that make this one of my favourite (re-listened) podcasts. Highly recommended.
