Michael Fraser, PhD, MS, CAE, FCPP, is the chief executive officer at the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO). Under Fraser's leadership and in partnership with the ASTHO Board of Directors, ASTHO has received multiple awards including the 2022 Fries Prize for Improving Health on behalf of all state and territorial health agencies for their work to respond to COVID-19 and several Power of "A" Awards from the American Society of Association Executives for ASTHO's outstanding performance and the contributions the ASTHO team has made to advance the work of ASTHO.Fraser received his doctorate and masters degrees in sociology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a masters of science in management with a concentration on management, strategy and leadership from the Eli Broad School of Management at Michigan State University. He received his B.A. in sociology from Oberlin College in 1991.
