This show is freaking fantastic. I was trying to explain it today as a mash up of the Sandman Slim book and Taxi Cab confessions. It is just so good. The world building is amazing and I love how the story is told. Everything just hit this perfect noir note for me. This is a show that should be in everyone's ears.
This is a really neat new show. (newish) I love monsters and fairies and all those good spooky magical things, and even more so, I love a setting that places these things in our real world. So first off, the world setting is really interesting and I'm always hungry for more lore. The story is also really interesting. I'm engaged and curious what will happen next, from the small dealings between characters to the grand overall scheme.I love the main character because he's so immensely broken, but there's hope still in him. He's complex and you can tell the writer poured a lot of his own soul into him. Also, I'm honestly very impressed by how many characters this show seems to have, and yet doesn't manage to be confusing. I've heard the creator say he's run out of voice actors, which I find surprising because there's always a new and interesting voice. I suppose that means the writing and the voice acting is really good. Also the sound design is really fun and well done.
This is definitely a podcast that is different than anything I've heard before. And it had me hooked after just one episode. It's so well done that you'd think you were actually riding in the cab along with Corin. The sound effects take you into under the shroud and it is a wild ride.
Under The Shroud is unapologetically messy and complicated and raw and incredibly human, even with all of its demons and monsters. And I love it. It is not afraid to look the darkness of this world square in the face and tell us a twisted, chaotic tale of redemption. If there is hope for Corrin, there is hope for all of us.
Under The Shroud is an epic experience that challenges our preconceptions of what it means to be a hero. Junkie Corin Black drives for a special taxi service that caters to all number of unsavory “extra-naturals.” This is Urban Fantasy as it’s meant to be told. Raw, gritty, and real. Welcome to Charm City.
This hardboiled crime fantasy drama just draws you in with its sadsack druggie protagonist with a heart of gold. You want good things to happen to this poor, striving guy but you're sure they won't.
This unique universe draws you in and makes you want to follow Corin, even though you know it´s probably not going to go well.
Fantastic audio drama they'll keep you guessing at every single turn. Creator and lead Ian Humphrey has obviously put a lot of heart and soul into this project, and his sound man, Ed, is clearly well seasoned and knows what he's doing.
It's so dark, but so amazing! Corin is an amazing character and I adore him!
I don't know the driver of the cab but this guy really makes me want to smoke.Smoke some candy sticks ;) Seriously though folks, great story here and hilarious. Don't be caught on your podcast app without it. *Inhales Dash *Alright, go on now.
Noir Urban Fantasy is the game, Corin Black is the name. This show is gritty, and strangely terrifying - like watching a slow-motion train-wreck. You cannot stop the inexorable end, but you cannot look away as it happens, and you also cannot help but hope that some divine intervention might materialize to save the day. Listen - you'll be hooked.
This story is so interesting and fun to listen to. His voice is great, which makes it easy listening. The concept is pretty cool.
A wonderful fiction pod with an inventive storytelling device, engaging plot, and phenomenal voice acting.Highly recommend.
This one is super infuriating to me. You get this beautifully grim and sallow noir narrative following an abject loser trying to make end's meet at the bottom of the barrel. And it's urban fantasy! The acting and writing are impressive and fun, but there's plenty of raw drama and emotion behind it as well. Unfortunately, it seems the creators have abandoned it halfway through its second season. Hope they're alright, but I'd definitely listen to more if they revisited it.
Left a little too much to the imagination, I found myself confused by the universe, but it was definitely an interesting take on the supernatural
