The book of Ruth is unlike any other book in the Bible. There is nothing overtly supernatural or miraculous in its pages. There are no big fish or burning bushes. There are no dreams, no healings, no revelations. There are no explicit, overt interventions from God. There are no dramatic answers to prayer. What you find there is a group of people who are trying to get by and survive. You find a group of people who make decisions just like we do about things like where to live and what to eat. They have jobs, have to build and keep relationships, and trust God every step of the way, just like us.
And yet, from cover to cover we see a very good God who is active and present in ways the people of this story could never have imagined. We will see a great God doing a great thing, not up front and center, but behind the scenes and through the circumstances. Does any of that sound familiar? Join us this weekend as we ask the question: “What do you do when you find yourself in a place you never thought you would be?” The answer will almost surely lead you into a deeper relationship with God.
