Tash Riot is one of the freshest talents in Toronto Drag. Originally from Australia, she is a Toronto-based drag queen who quickly took the scene by storm upon her arrival. She got her start by competing in “Crews & Tangos Drag Race” in 2018 and placing in the top 3 out of 50 competitors. She now holds a covetable position as one of the bars headlining performers. As a performer she has been billed alongside the likes of Willam, Alaska and Brooke Lynn Hytes. She regularly entertains all over Toronto and the GTA from West End haunts like The Beaver and The Gladstone Hotel, to pretty much every stage in the Gay Village, including Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, Woody’s, Glad Day Bookshop, Garage, The Drink, and of course Crews & Tangos. She is also apart of the “Clash of the Queens” drag brunch at Lula Lounge and has performed at the Yonge and Dundas main stage for Pride Toronto. Tash is a trained singer, dancer and actor, having graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music’s prestigious Bachelor of Musical Theatre program prior to her move to Canada. She also toured Australia in an arena spectacular production of Hairspray as one of the “nicest kids in town” Brenda, as well as being the Penny understudy. Now known as “queen of the lesbians” Tash is outspoken about queer inclusivity and has pushed the Toronto scene to provide more space and visibility for womxn and afab (assigned female at birth) individuals. She is proud to be the first afab performer to be on the regular roster of queens at many stages in the Gay Village. In addition to her love of performing, Tash made a speech at the 2020 Pride Toronto Dyke March, she was a featured guest on the “We as Women” podcast and was one of five panelist for the “International Women’s Day” event at the 519. She also regularly participates in Drag Queen Storytime as well as numerous fundraising events, including hosting “Koins for Koala’s” which raised money for Australian Bushfire Relief. You can always expect Tash to deliver high energy performances and witty banter - you know she’s an absolute RIOT.
